- You can only use images from Wikimedia commons, and even then, you can only use and upload images that do not violate any copyright law. VirtualVagabond (talk) 17:37, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Background section
[edit]Usually, the "Background" section should be limited to what the reliable sources state as the background to the current events. It is considered WP:OR to add whatever one thinks is relevant without validation from sources. I am most of the present #Background section will have to go. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 18:24, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- I think It should remain as It gives the reader a brief view of whats going on in Pakistan but the actual reality of the crisis. GamerHashaam (talk) 19:01, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, that is not how Wikipedia works. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:34, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- One thing , Its the same party I think leading protests here as in Gilgit baltistan so check on that page and second check which government Punjab Constabulary is under , Punjab Constabulary is under the Ministry of Interior of Punjab. GamerHashaam (talk) 20:50, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Please refrain from WP:OR. You can insert Government of Punjab only if you have an WP:RS that says so in the context of this conflict. Please don't treat Wikipedia as a blog site! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:54, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have provided the source on the Punjab Constabulary which is under the Government of Punjab also check on the 2024 gilgit protests GamerHashaam (talk) 20:56, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Since the two major demands being made by the protestors are lower food prices and electricity costs, it makes sense to cover in the background section the Pakistan economic crisis, and issues of power tariffs. Something also needs to be said about the present Government of AJK. Only a cursory mention of the composition of the federal government is needed. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 06:34, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- can we talk on the punjab constabulary and government? GamerHashaam (talk) 07:43, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think so. Why is it important here? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 08:49, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Well you have removed the government of punjab from the equation which plays a key role in the grain/food prices GamerHashaam (talk) 11:23, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have removed WP:OR, yes. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:33, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Canned Knight, I was quite shocked to see this huge section on historical background having been added. I am afraid no more than a paragraph can be permitted, following the guidelines I mentioned above. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 00:54, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- never doubt us pakistanis , we are 100% committed in our goals . Pakistan Zindabad GamerHashaam (talk) 07:52, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Well then it can be moved then to Azad Kashmir and History of Azad Kashmir pages. Canned Knight (talk) 10:16, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]@GamerHashaam You have to insert proper citations to source your writings. Please keep this in mind. You can say “per sources”. The claim that the army was involved needs to be reliably sourced as well. VirtualVagabond (talk) 17:34, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Officers of the Rangers are from Army on side duty and every pakistani knows thats second There were reports of military vehicles. GamerHashaam (talk) 10:28, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- You need to cite a reliable source. We can’t just go off WP:OR.
- Plus, the Rangers are not the army, they’re a whole different force. They’re paramilitary. VirtualVagabond (talk) 11:05, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- check on who leads the rangers? Its a army Maj Gen active duty and the officers are assigned by the army GamerHashaam (talk) 07:48, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- But they’re treated as a separate force and are used as internal security, and are stationed on the border with India where it is undisputed. They’re both different. VirtualVagabond (talk) 08:53, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Rangers are stationed on the International Border as Border Guards in Punjab and in Sindh in there respective provincial branches and mostly act as ceremonial roll while actual military is deployed. Rangers are under Ministry of Interior and They are commanded by Army Officers and Generals even in the offical site the max rank someone can obtain in rangers is JCO and above is reserved for military Personal. Rangers are not deployed in Azad Kashmir or Gilgit Baltistan border which task falls to other units. GamerHashaam (talk) 22:04, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
