Green Left Party

[edit]

I suggest we remove Green Left Party since it has no prominence right now. HDP members did not change their party, they're still HDP. For now they will contest under YSP list, but this shouldn't mean YSP is a prominent party. Beshogur (talk) 14:45, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

HDP is not running. Shadow4dark (talk) 19:54, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know, doesn't mean that YSP is a prominent party. Beshogur (talk) 20:12, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thus should be removed from the infobox. It's a party with no MPs. You don't have to become a party's member to run from another party's list. Beshogur (talk) 20:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Shadow4dark: I suggest adding HDP back again, while adding with a note that they will contest under YSP. Beshogur (talk) 15:33, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We can put them back after the elections Shadow4dark (talk) 22:51, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Beshogur (talk) 15:18, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviations

[edit]

@Shadow4dark: why did you remove some? There is inconsistency with others then. Beshogur (talk) 12:04, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I used what was stated at their main pages, only AKP is not official. Shadow4dark (talk) 12:10, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We have now 3 tables with abbreviations shown should we not remove two? it makes reading longer and pointless.. Shadow4dark (talk) 12:19, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For consistency. Beshogur (talk) 13:59, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox EXTREMELY CONFUSING!...

[edit]

So in the infobox for each party it lists "Seats needed," and I have no idea what that means in this context (maybe something poorly translated from Turkish?)....Normally for parliamentary election articles, the infobox lists how many seats each party won in the last election, how many seats were won in this election, and what the change was from the previous election (more or less seats). The popular vote percentages and how much they changed from the last election are also often listed, see for example the 2021 German federal election article. In this article's infobox, the numbers given after "Seats needed" are all accompanied by green up-pointing arrows, suggesting that all of the parties increased their number of seats in parliament!

Anyway, I think the infobox is in need of a serious overhaul to make it easy to understand and in line with Wiki norms for parliamentary election articles. -2003:CA:870C:EA4:8AD2:C243:E616:79AB (talk) 12:05, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

All elections on Wikipedia displays seats needed (to reach majority in the parliament) before the results are announced. Cem456 (talk) 19:46, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TİP

[edit]

TİP shouldn't be considered that it won 2 seats in 2018, because they're elected from HDP list. For comparison İYİ has elected one MP from CHP list, but isn't added to the infobox. Beshogur (talk) 11:14, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter what list they were elected on – if they were TİP members, then TİP had two seats. The same for İYİ, which I will correct now. Cheers, Number 57 11:30, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, it's actually 44 seats this election. However Euronews showing 45 seats. There is a dispute in Isparta province regarding this. Let's wait for final results. It's one of two. Beshogur (talk) 12:14, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also the problem is, if we cound İYİ as 44, then we should count CHP as 130, and AKP as (-5, 4 HÜDAPAR, 1 DSP) which is technically incorrect. So the same reason, for last election TİP should be 0, and HDP 67 imo. I think their final MP count should be mentioned with a note. see AA, how they report it. They do not mention parties elected under other parties' lists. Beshogur (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of this election's outcome, Why have you revered the corrections of the last election's outcome?
If the CHP and AKP seat figures include other parties that are not also in the infobox, that can be added as a note to their totals. If they include seats won by other parties that are in the infobox, then the seats should be transferred.
TİP won two seats at the last election, putting it as zero is misleading readers. We have a similar situation in Israel where parties move between alliances, and seat changes are based on the seats won within lists, not standalone lists. Number 57 12:28, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why have you revered the corrections of the last election's outcome? you misunderstood. Last election was 43 İYİ, this one is 43, but with one/two MP from CHP list, it is 44, maybe 45, unsure for now. (we have to wait for definitive results).
If the CHP and AKP seat figures include other parties that are not also in the infobox, that can be added as a note to their totals I propose the opposite since that's how election results work in Turkey. After that, MPs elected from other parties return to their party when the parliament has opened. putting it as zero is misleading readers thus I propose to add a note, that it won 2 seats with HDP. They didn't participate the election itself. Yes this is a weird system. We have a similar situation in Israel in this case, they're not on the ballot paper (not sure how Israeli system is). For example İYİ and CHP were the only parties in the Nation Alliance participating the election, while they elected other parties' members under CHP list. (DEVA 14, GP 10, SAADET 10, DP 3, TDP 1). Should we add them as well with literal 0 vote? Similarly YSP has other parties under their list, as well as AKP. Beshogur (talk) 13:08, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In response to your last point, I said above "If the CHP and AKP seat figures include other parties that are not also in the infobox, that can be added as a note to their totals." I do not propose adding parties that did not participate alone to the infobox. Number 57 13:14, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think we shouldn't even mention those two. YSK 2018 results for MPs are:
AK Parti: 295
MHP: 49
HDP: 67
CHP: 146
İYİ Parti: 43
[1]
This means, in 2018, TİP won 0 seats officially. Similarly parties in Nation Alliance elected their MPs from CHP list, however they don't count. I propose to remove it completely and add increase by 4 MPs. This applies to BBP as well on results section. It should be 0 MP before and 0 after, rather than 1 before and 0 after since they were not official contenders. Beshogur (talk) 15:03, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can't link a youtube video here, but Erkan Baş making his first speech as a HDP MP in 2018. Beshogur (talk) 09:23, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of alliances section

[edit]

Why do they have their current seats? I think it should be seats prior the election. Election results are already mentioned at bottom. Beshogur (talk) 13:20, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
