Election results table

@Kiwichris, can I ask why you templated the election results table (at Template:2023 Port Waikato by-election)? I cannot see that the table will ever be needed anywhere but this page. — HTGS (talk) 23:33, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a convention that all by-election result tables are made as template (see Category:New Zealand by-election result templates). The templates are used elsewhere such as on the page for the electorate the by-election was held in, in this case Port Waikato (New Zealand electorate). Yes, that's what we've always done. A few years back, someone told us that we need to use labelled section transclusion instead. I've tried it out and it works well. Schwede 66 01:54, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
