Capitalization of article's name

[edit]

This article should move back to 2021 eruption of Semeru or be renamed 2021 Semeru eruption, but the current name does not follow capitalization naming convention, (Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization)). For further reference, see Category:21st-century volcanic events regarding naming conventions for this sort of event. I'll gladly make the move myself if there's agreement; please ping me. --Rosiestep (talk) 20:14, 4 December 2021 (UTC) Ping Elijahandskip who made the move. --Rosiestep (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The latter one works for me. Elijahandskip (talk) 20:35, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Possible erroneous reports of lahars as lava flows

[edit]

Given the explosive nature of this eruption, I was initially skeptical of reports of damage caused by lava flows. From a little bit of searching, images and videos claiming to be of lava flows from this volcano actually show lahars (i.e. mudflows). I suspect that this was due to a mistranslation, since Google Translate shows that "lahar" in Indonesian has both "lava" and "volcanic mudflow" as possible translations. I know what I have here qualifies as WP:OR, but I thought it was worth bringing up, since this information. TornadoLGS (talk) 02:36, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Help with citations

[edit]

Hi, I’m a somewhat new wiki user. I was updating the numbers, however, for some reason, [1] citation shows up as something else, so I’m not able to re-use it. And therefore, I had to create 2 citations, which were both the same things. I also kinda messed up the page once or twice but I reverted it. I believe the other one is [3] that is the same. Could someone help? Thanks.

@Kansatria: Hi. This his how you re-use a ref. At the first instance, put the full details in, but add a name parameter like this:
<ref name= "NAME">{{citation template}}</ref>
and at all subsequent uses format it like:
<ref name= "NAME"/> (ignoring the nowiki tags if you are looking at the source for this talk page).
See WP:CITE for more information. TornadoLGS (talk) 20:47, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
