Page name
[edit]Hi all,
I created this page, but I'm wondering if I've actually named it the right thing. The case was first reported on in 2021, but actually took place between 2014 and 2016. I don't want to just name it "Munster abuse case", because I think it should be temporally grounded. After all, this was hardly the first, nor will it be the last, case of abuse heard in the province. Does anyone have any guidance? Thanks, Xx78900 (talk) 17:58, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Reading now. Before I start, two quick questions, if I may:
- Is the article up-to-date? Any news about the sentencing, which should have taken place already?
- Are major changes to the article to be expected in the near future?
- Avoid single sentence paragraphs where possible via MOS:PARA.
Thanks, --Jens Lallensack (talk) 21:59, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there, thanks for your patience. I'm just going to look over it now. The article is not up-to-date, but I'll update it this minute. Once I have it updated, given that the update is just about victim impact statements and the sentencing results, I would expect no more major changes to be made to this article for quite some time. I will adjust the paragraphs accordingly. Thank you. Xx78900 (talk) 13:19, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Okay I actually have to run, but I'll be back tonight, I want to have this article up-to-date before the day is out. Xx78900 (talk) 14:28, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Xx78900: Where are we standing on this? Will you ping me once you are done? At least the lead does not seem to be up-to date. Thanks, --Jens Lallensack (talk) 21:53, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry I forgot to update the lede when did the body. All of the info should now be up-to-date. @Jens Lallensack Xx78900 (talk) 11:09, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

- Sorry for the delay, I'm just very occupied in RL. Please see my comments below.
- We usually avoid citations in the lead except for very controversial stuff, since everything should be mentioned in the body anyways. Done
- "notably low IQ" – I can't find "notably" in the source, it just says "low IQ"; what is the reasoning here? Done
- melatonin – link? Done
- Parts of the section "Living conditions" is repetitive since living conditions are partly covered in the "backgrounds" section. Maybe remove that information from the background section to improve structure? Done
- I recommend to avoid very short paragraphs (with one or two sentences) by combining them, see MOS:LINEBREAKS. Done
- Each of the accused had their own defense counsel. – I think it should be stated here how many were accused. And here I see another problem; until now, only the two parents and one uncle was mentioned. The uncles do not appear in the background section (while the parents do); it would help to mention them as well I think. Done
- What is Gardaí? Should be introduced and linked. Done
- The father of the five children, aged 56, was charged with 34 different counts, including rape, – I think it would make sense to remove the examples here, as they are listed anyways in the next sentence on the ones they were found guilty. It reads very repetitive. Done
- She described as being so thin upon arrival that – "him" missing? Done
- parents.Since – space missing? Done --Jens Lallensack (talk) 00:04, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

- If the above outstanding comments are addressed, I may pass it; they are mostly minor points. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 17:46, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- Many thanks to the IP for the fixes! I am promoting now. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 19:19, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
Hi there, thanks for having a look at this. You’re dead right I haven’t added the most up to date info, which is released. I’m away at the moment, but I will be able to input it tomorrow night or Monday at the very latest. Thanks again. Xx78900 (talk) 22:10, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
