  • Hi The Rambling Man, review follows: article more than 5x expanded in the seven days prior to 27 May; article well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources; I didn't pick up any overly close paraphrasing from a random check on some of the sources and the automatic checker flags no issues (top result is a site that is copying from Wikipedia, others are picking up attributed quotes); hook fact is interesting, mentioned in the article and checks out to the source cited (and to our List of Brentford F.C. seasons, in which this is their tenth and only successful play-off); a QPQ has been carried out. Looks fine to me - Dumelow (talk) 07:22, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

General

[edit]
  • Both the West London Derby links don't need the word "derby" to be captalised

Lead

[edit]
  • "Swansea's Jay Fulton was sent off midway through the second half." - what was Fulton sent off for?
  • "Winning the final and promotion was estimated to be worth £178 million." - estimated by whom?

Route to the final

[edit]
  • "Brentford finished the regular 2020–21 season in third place – for the second successive season – in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football league system, one place and seven points ahead of Swansea City." - repetition of "place"
  • "Brentford were awarded a penalty 11 minutes later which Ivan Toney scored" - what was the penalty awarded for?
  • "and then 12 minutes later Bournemouth were reduced to ten players when Chris Mepham was sent off." - what was Mepham sent off for?

Background

[edit]
  • "Brentford had failed to win in four play-off final attempts: they lost the 1997 Football League Second Division play-off Final 1–0 against Crewe Alexandra, were defeated 2–0 in the 2002 Football League Second Division play-off Final by Stoke City, lost to Yeovil Town in the 2013 Football League One play-off Final 2–1" - will need verifying by an extra source since BBC Sport does not mention any of this portion of text
  • "Winning the final and promotion was estimated to be worth £178 million to the successful team." - estimated by whom?
