I edited an external link to change it from a generic link (to the Tigers MLB site) to one that was specific to the 2021 season (the Tigers 2021 schedule at the same site), but was reverted. The official site is only specific to 2021 in so far as the current year is 2021 and the site tends to focus on current events. In 2022 it will be focused on the 2022 Tigers and the link from here will be less relevant. Such a link is generic and belongs on the Detroit Tigers page. Season-specific pages should have season-specific links. If anyone wants to argue that mlb.com/tigers (or tigers.com) is specific to 2021, how do you account for the fact that it also appears in the season articles for 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017... ? --Jameboy (talk) 18:28, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
One further thought I had on this... including both links, with a note to remove the generic link at the end of the season, would seem acceptable. I do acknowledge that the generic team site link is useful while the season concerned is in progress. --Jameboy (talk) 18:36, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Just remove the generic link from other seasons since yes it focuses on current events/the current season (or off-season). Makes more sense to me if people want the news not archived stuff. TomCat4680 (talk) 18:49, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
For now I'll focus on those older seasons as I think a season-specific schedule link and Baseball Reference season page link is useful for those. --Jameboy (talk) 18:57, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
