Collective Statistics of continents, leagues and clubs

[edit]

I am eager to see a few tables regarding the players participating in AFCON 2021. Which continents do they play their club football in, which countries and which teams, (at least the most popular teams). My problem is, the squads keep changing even now, I see changes in the article daily, after the first round in the group stage has passed. What should I do? Should I work with what we have currently? Wait for the tournament to finish? Is there anyone that can produce the tables I suggested in a quick and efficient way? I am an amateur in data management. 613 The Evil (talk) 22:07, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest to wait until the page stabilises, as there are many changes as you say right now, which would make it more likely that there will be unnoticed errors in the data. --SuperJew (talk) 22:16, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I created a spreadsheet with the AFCON 2021 footballers' clubs, by Football Federation & Confederation. It is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XCFEmd3MI4jJcg0gW1TwZaHTQTbEuwfCGHRoW50rPVA/edit?usp=sharing 613 The Evil I am reluctant to try to implement this in wikipedia also, I am not so experienced using its tools and I don't want to do the same work twice, more or less, it would take me hours. Can someone more experienced implement this data in the Stats section of the article about AFCON 2021 squads? Thanks in advance. (talk) 12:28, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Squad list order/structure

[edit]

If all but one or two squad lists appear in numerical order (if available) by position with visible breaks between the positions, should it also then follow that all squad lists appear in the same fashion—if squad numbers are available, the players are listed in numerical order by position with visible breaks between the positional sections? Consistency limits confusion, and in an article with so many lists, those lists should, if anything, be consistent. Any other ideas are more than welcome. @Anwegmann: Contrary to what you wrote on my talk page, the consensus is to list squads by numerical order, both on Wikipedia and in most other sites, including official FIFA and confederation listings. The lists currently listed by position is due to the numbers not being released yet, but should be changed once the information is available. For consistency, see listings for 2019 AFCON, 2017 AFCON, 2015 AFCON, 2013 AFCON, 2018 World Cup (FIFA listing), 2014 World Cup, 2010 World Cup, etc. etc. etc. If you have an example of a squads list page which lists otherwise, please feel free to show it. --SuperJew (talk) 06:41, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
