Season Summary

[edit]

Now that 21-22 is in the books and we can step back and look at the season in its totality, perhaps Paragraph 3 on the Beaver Creek’s unprecedented hosting role could be removed or relocated from the introductory section?

And if, for some reason, the community insists on including the stat about Shiffrin’s unusual Run 2 DNF in KG in the “season summary”, perhaps it can follow her surpassing Stenmark’s single discipline record as one is clearly more consequential than (& chronologically preceded!) the other? I think that’s commonly referred to burying the lede. And, in the process, the GOAT.

In fact, the litany of factoids (Strolz #300, Shiffrin’s DNF, Braathen’s 29 -> 1, Dave Ryding’s Brit Win, & the odd Beaver Creek shoutout could all be moved to a section of interesting stats a la “Achievements”, “Retirements”, etc.

Editing pages is thankless work, so rather than disrespecting those laudable efforts by revising a hodgepodge intro myself, I’d encourage those who’ve devoted themselves to the task to take a second look at the big picture of 21-22. Cheers. 2602:306:33C9:77E0:A17A:D049:C97D:E25A (talk) 21:19, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
