Covid-19 historical stats of all major countries/states has # of cases and # of deaths columns along with bar graphs. But for switzerland, we only have # of cases column (# of deaths column is missing). Can someone please add # of deaths column as well? This will make the switzerland page consistent with other countries and easier for people to scrape this information.
Thanks Skagraw (talk) 22:46, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Excess mortality
[edit]I would like to propose adding a diagram on the excess mortality during the pandemic, namely this one (see also de.wikipedia version). --Leyo 21:06, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
New cases
[edit]Has the china-virus in switzerland also vanished since 26th of May like it anywhere does without interaction? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.101.85.156 (talk) 05:24, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
Mortality Rate
[edit]Under statistics, a more apt header is Case Fatality Rate. Mortality rate is more generally deaths per population, not deaths per cases. --Mystik738 (talk) 04:28, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
- Mortality Rate ?
- Decrease in capacity ! Physically and emotionally. Mandatory reduction in the amplitude of emotions. Impairment of the ability to desire something strongly. Threatened ... by a fatal heart attack. Someone. From the state cynics. Can find an attractive tool here. Against political (economic, social) opposition. For example . Why should the Swiss wear medical masks? High medical support. Prevents the infected from dying quickly. Gial mon Ideal (talk) 13:52, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
Why does Switzerland COVID-19 recovered cases updates every 100?
[edit]One of the most complicated ones is that for the past two days Switzerland only updates confirmed cases and deaths without updating these deaths. On July 18, they updated Switzerland COVID-19 recovered cases, but why in the hundreds they update recovered cases? Evan0512 (talk) 23:01, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
Cases Past 100,000
[edit]The numbers on this page need to be updated. Switzerland has passed 100,000 cases now. Somebody change the color on the world map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:82E0:A690:DD3E:56F7:4779:E077 (talk) 02:46, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Update "A third vaccine, the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, is also expected for approval." to note recent rejection until further study "A third vaccine, the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, which comprised 5.3 million of the doses ordered by Swiss authorities, was rejected for approval by the Swiss medical authority, SwissMedic, citing insufficient data."

Deleting the Statistics Block
[edit]Does anyone disagree with deleting the entire chapter "Statistics"? It's all very much out of date (hasn't been updated for months or an entire year), duplicates the data from the case/mortality graph further up in the page and it makes up more than 50% of the vertical article size. Also honestly a huge table data dump like that doesn't feel like encyclopedic content to me. That'd much rather fit into a webpage we'd quote as a source --Taktaal (talk) 15:18, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe wait for more input (with 63 page watchers there are bound to be other opinions), but as far as I'm concerned, we can kill it. The graphs are hard to read as they are, and would be even harder if they included the last year of data, while that's the most interesting part. The apparently dramatic rise on those charts pale in comparison to the data over the last 17 months, which we don't have there. The impressively detailed "by canton" table hasn't had any sources applied since March 2020, and no new data at all since last August. No, it's time to sweep that early but now outdated work into the bin. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 16:39, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- I undid the removal as I strongly disagree with deleting the entire section. However, I would not disagree with deleting some parts of it. --Leyo 13:40, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ok I deleted all statistics that hadn't been updated for more than a year and left the ones slightly less out-of-date in --Taktaal (talk) 14:25, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- No, you didn't! Deaths in Switzerland by age group was last updated less than one year ago. --Leyo 17:51, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

- I've now deleted the New Cases bit (the "by canton" table) as mentioned above. I hadn't realized it was just a template transcluded here; now I'm wondering if the template itself (and maybe other countries') should be nominated at TfD. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 04:14, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Reopen Borders
[edit]On June 26, 2021, Swiss borders were reopened to "travellers reaching Switzerland from any of the Schengen Area countries" who "will no longer have to go through quarantine" ([1]).
On July 20, 2020, the same provision will be applied to the following countries: "Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay and the EU states outside the Schengen area (Bulgaria, Ireland, Croatia, Romania and Cyprus)". Last change (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=COVID-19_pandemic_in_Switzerland&diff=1211991186&oldid=1192594597) has commented few variable lines passed to the Infobox outbreak template.
While this is not affecting the web version, this seems to have broken Wikimedia API which is now returning an HTTP 500 error on this page: http://offline.mdwiki.org/w/api.php?action=visualeditor&mobileformat=html&format=json&paction=parse&page=COVID-19_pandemic_in_Switzerland
I suspected comments inside the template are not totally supported.
I suggest to simply fully remove the outdated lines, they are available in the history anyway. B-root (talk) 09:53, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I made the edit as requested! Let's see if that fixes the API issue. GKantaris (talk) 11:24, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
