Setting up candidate pages
[edit]Howdy Wikipedians! Submitted a question about setting up candidate pages for Sarah Iannarone and Ozzie Gonzalez based on the early KATU interview and Willamette Week articles Thoughts? Happy to take an initial pass at core bio etc based on media cover to date if everyone agrees. Nelsonst2004 (talk) 22:43, 11 October 2019 (UTC)nelsonst2004
- Hey Nelsonst2004! While I appreciate the initiative, I fear that neither of those articles would survive an admin review due to lack of notability of the subjects. See WP:N for more info. In general, it seems that being elected to the office of Mayor establishes notability for the purposes of Wikipedia, but I do not believe that being a candidate for office does so on its own. I honestly don't know enough about either Iannarone or Gonzalez outside of their runs for office to say whether they are notable or not, but if you do, then you can always write an article and see what happens. I just wouldn't want you to spend a lot of effort in writing an article just to see it deleted. Happy editing! Yompi20 (talk) 23:07, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
