2020–21 NCAA Division I FBS football season → 2020 NCAA Division I FBS football season – For now, let's revert back to the standard date formatting used on the other NCAA Division I FBS football season articles, based on WP:CRYSTAL grounds. As I am proposing this, the Big Ten Conference announced a few hours ago that they have reversed course and are now looking into starting play next month. None of those other conferences (Mid-American, Mountain West, Pac-12, etc. ) have scheduled any spring 2021 games yet AFAIK. Currently they are only labeled in the article subheader as "possibility of playing in the spring", now "will". There is no guarantee that COVID-19 cases will subside enough in the Spring, and there could be a chance that they could instead reverse course like the Big Ten and play in the Fall too. And they could still take a playbook from the 2020 Summer Olympics and still call it the "2020 season" even if they are playing in 2021. Thus "2020–21" in the current title is premature until Spring 2021 NCAA Division I FBS games are actually scheduled (like some conferences have already done in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season). - Support. Makes sense to me. — Mudwater (Talk) 06:33, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support per WP:CONSISTENT for consistency with the other football season articles. Rreagan007 (talk) 05:51, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support it appears almost all conferences are attempting to start in 2020. Lsw2472 (talk) 20:57, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support I was the user that moved it to its current title but I understand and agree with the rationale for moving it back. If there is an FBS team/conference that actually plays in the spring, then we can entertain "2020–21". PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:37, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support Editor made a WP:Bold edit but it should revert to 2020.-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 00:24, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose for now. Latest sources say that three conferences expect to play during the spring. Fbdave (talk) 23:25, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Games added to schedule due to COVID-19
[edit]California and UCLA played a game on Sunday, November 15, because their opponents for that week, Arizona State and Utah respectively, were both ineligible to play due to COVID-19. I think this should be a footnote in the "Postponed or cancelled games" section.
