PWHPA Players

[edit]

The PWHPA is an organized group and it’s member-players are specifically boycotting North American teams for the 2019–20 season. It is inaccurate and misleading to indicate that the players are members of teams that they are no longer affiliated with and, in many cases, no longer exist. I motion to change the currrent team for any PWHPA member who is not playing outside of North America to “PWHPA.” The topic is open to discussion. If no objections are raised, I will make the change on 10 March 2020. Spitzmauskc (talk) 06:52, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We should use whatever the IIHF uses in their documents. It's reflecting the last team the player was part of. Kante4 (talk) 16:49, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It’s unfortunate that the IIHF opted to document in this way but I concede your point, they are the ultimate governing body. I retract my motion, no data currently present will be altered and no additions will be made without open discussion. For what it’s worth, I think the system adopted by the IIHF will needlessly confuse folks who are less familiar with the current politics of the women’s game in North America. Is there value in adding (PWHPA) after the most recent team affiliation or an asterisk to a short footnote indicating that most the recent team ≠ current team? Maybe there can be a section in the main article? Tbh, i do not know much about what's going on there. Kante4 (talk) 21:21, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
