Status?

What is the status of the race so far? We have some sources (BBC,The Telegraph) stating it has been cancelled, others (Autosport) saying it is set to be cancelled and as yet no word from the FiA. I see in the 2020 Formula One season it has already been noted as having been cancelled but everything seems in a state of flux at the moment. Do we hold off on declaring it officially cancelled until we have an authoritative decision? Lemon martini (talk) 16:54, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

@Mjroots: sources are saying that the Australian Grand Prix is due to be cancelled or set to be cancelled. These are leaks but there is no official confirmation of this. Between 2018 Belgian Grand Prix and 2018 Singapore Grand Prix all these reliable sources reported that Lance Stroll would move from Williams to Racing Point mid-season. This reporting was done in much the same vain as this yet it turned out to be false. I think it best we wait for official confirmation. We should get it in the next couple of hours.

According to the Guardian, the Premier of Victoria has stated that it is up to Formula 1 if it wants to go ahead or not, but fans will be barred from the race, so it'll be a behind closed doors event. The other events in the weekend are still 'scheduled to go ahead' according to motorsport.com Lemon martini (talk) 22:49, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

The Telegraph stated that Formula One want to cancel but the organisers want it to go ahead. Again, this is why we wait for official confirmation

Australian English

@Mandarax: this article is written in Australian English (as verified by the presence of {{use Australian English}} at the top of the article). My research suggests that Australians spell it as organisation, not organization and a (very) qick scan suggests that the article is consistent with the use of Austrlian English.

My original edit included the edit summary "Correct name (MOS:ARTCON) – see https://www.who.int". Do you even look at edits before reverting them? After you reverted me, I restored the correct edit, again linking to the relevant MOS section. You reverted me again. Since you apparently refuse to take the time to see the correct policy, I'll quote it here:

Within a given article the conventions of one particular variety of English should be followed consistently. Exceptions include:

...

• proper names use the subject's own spelling, e.g. joint project of the United States Department of Defense and the Australian Defence Force; International Labour Organization;

In this case, the "subject's own spelling", as used on their official site, the URL of which I provided in my original edit summary, is "World Health Organization". The variety of English used in the article is irrelevant here, as the MOS, again, specifies the use of the subject's own spelling. (Note the example in the MOS that includes both spellings Defense and Defence in the same sentence, where each is the relevant subject's own spelling.) I've again restored the correct spelling. 2021 listed as "next race" in template

HumanBodyPiloter5, I don't know what you mean by qualification but a 2021 race appears on the provisional 2021 calendar.

Finding a way to state that the 2021 race is provisionally expected to happen rather than just stating that it will happen would take the template from being WP:CRYSTAL to being more helpful in this context where it's really rather difficult to be certain about what will or wont happen.
