Matches
[edit]@Jzimmerman016: You shouldn't add the entire match schedule. Nothing is confirmed yet, see Laliga website. This is not only applied on Sevilla, but also Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Mallorca and Premier League's clubs. Please self-revert before I report you and engage in discussion.--Sakiv (talk) 13:53, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Very confused to why you think the match schedule is not confirmed. The entire fixture list including opponents, home versus away clubs, and approximate week of the match have been drawn and confirmed by La Liga. This occurred on Monday. Here is the link of another source: https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2020/08/31/la-liga-schedule-2020-21/. Also the La Liga website calendar has all the matches and you can see what matchday and what fixtures occur each week.
It's too soon. We don't know when the game's timing is or where it is going to be played. Anything can happen in the next 8 months. So I don't see a rationale for adding the entire match schedule right now except round 1, 2 and 3 ([1], [2]). I call upon you to stick with the games confirmed by La Liga. I had a similar talk here Talk:2020–21 RCD Mallorca season but in the end, we agreed.--Sakiv (talk) 17:57, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
I would have to disagree here. We know where all games are going to be played (which stadiums) and what day they will be played (plus or minus 1 day). Every year, La Liga announces the entire match schedule and then throughout the year they will periodically release the time of the match (usually 2-3 weeks ahead of the fixture) but we already know Matchday 3 is the weekend of September 27. I think it's more appropriate to add the matchday schedule and tweak and update throughout the year. If not, we are omitting information about the schedule that has been released to the public. --User:Jzimmerman016
@Sakiv: You did respond to my comment above to reach a consensus. All 38 matches, home club and order have been released to the public. The only item that may change is fixture date. If you want to compromise, we can remove all dates that have not been confirmed by La Liga but leave everything else. (talk) 7 September 2020
- As I mentioned earlier, we should not include any match whose date, timing or venue has not been determined yet. We are still in the midst of the world's worst pandemic in 100 years, and we do not know if the league will be completed or not. It is not encyclopedic to add an entire match schedule that may never happen.--Sakiv (talk) 16:47, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Yes while I understand there is currently a pandemic, the league has announced the entire fixture list to the public so it’s not a far leap to say they believe with confidence that they will play all matches. We do know the venues and order for each opponent in the league. Again, as this is public knowledge, it should be on the page without a doubt. My best offer is to remove the date for each match date as they could be off by a day or two. As they finished the last 11 fixtures in June and July without an issue, I believe it is more likely that all the fixtures are correct rather than postponed. Therefore, the simple solution would be to add all fixtures and adjust as we go along. As the entire fixture list is released and we expect they will play 38, we should add 38 matches. - No response, so continuing with standard operating procedure of adding all publicly released fixtures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jzimmerman016 (talk • contribs) 18:23, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Jzimmerman016: Stop adding the whole fixtures or else you will be blocked. This is the final warning I give you.--Sakiv (talk) 01:29, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: Why are you deleting fixtures that exist? This is how it's been done for many years and how many other team pages are shown. You are being disruptive as this fixture schedule is public knowledge and has been released. This is your the final warning or you will be blocked. jzimmerman016 (talk) 01:29, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jzimmerman016: Really? Wikipedia is not an ordinary website, it is an encyclopedia. It is not our duty to provide the reader with information about an event that may or may not occur in the future. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. These matches will not have any coverage until two weeks before they take place. Currently these games have zero coverage so they should not be shown now. While we are discussing, you continue your unhelpful approach. You have to wait for the discussion to end, to find a solution.--Sakiv (talk) 01:41, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: Yes, the matches are planned and if you ask La Liga it is on their schedule and they intend to play the matches. Therefore, it is more likely than not that the matches will occur and should be shown. We should not assume matches will not be played. And if they are moved or postponed then we will update the page and easily change the schedule. As this has always been the practice for this page to add all, we will continue to keep all matches until this discussion ends. You abandoned our conversation in September so standard operating procedure continues to be used. I do not see any relevant edits from you other than to delete my work including your deletion of all my match statistics updates performed. That is uncalled for and completely unrelated to the discussion at hand. --jzimmerman016 (talk) 02:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jzimmerman016: I didn't delete any part in the stats just changed the scorers table. I did not "abandon" the talk in September, but I saw that you are intransigent and will not accept the opposite opinion. Everything that happened in past seasons is irrelevant in where we are now. Now we have a global epidemic, and you know the rest. I have been interested in the Spanish league articles in general for years and have been watching the Sevilla season articles even before you created your account.--Sakiv (talk) 02:39, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
@Jzimmerman016: Again, STOP your disruptive behaviour.--Sakiv (talk) 20:25, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Reading your page and interactions with other pages, I can see clearly that you are the one that will not accept opposite opinions. Please keep your crusade away from this page. If you read back I did offer a compromise but you never responded. There has been no discussion of shutting down, they even played a La Liga match where a team could barely fill a starting XI. Also, you can be a fan for a longer time, that doesn't mean anything if you don't know the difference between an epidemic and pandemic. Please stop your disruptive behavior on this page. It is costing me more time having to clean up your mess.--jzimmerman016 (talk) 20:31, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jzimmerman016: It seems like you are not only horribly stubborn but also rude. I am a football fan who cares about all spanish league pages long before you came here. Just look at the 2017-18 season and you can see that the matches were added gradually not all at once. I do exacty know the difference between pandemic and epidemic but that was only an error. This situation cannot be tolerated and you are the one who always creates problems with me. You didn't even accept the new scorers table I added. You just want me out of the Seville article, and that won't happen at all.--Sakiv (talk) 20:40, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: I'm rude? I did not try to explain the definition of an encyclopedia a few comments ago and continually have deleted my posts without even commenting for months. I'm glad you are a fan. I watch every game too. I accepted your change to the scoring table until you deleted my other items because it looks better. I am trying to keep up with your deletions so it appears that was a casualty but you are not innocent either as you deleted ALL of my statistics changes from Saturday's match that I had to redo and they have nothing to do with the match schedule. I have no problem with you making edits to the page as long as you stop undoing my edits. For the match schedule, I offered a compromise a long time ago but you have STILL not even mentioned that. We can add all the opponents by matchday and change the date to TBD and update as the match times are released. --jzimmerman016 (talk) 20:47, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jzimmerman016: I have a new suggestion that is similar to yours, which is to add full schedule while keeping them hidden and showing the next two matches at a once. What do you say?--Sakiv (talk) 21:35, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: That is fine. Keeps us from having to add new matches to the schedule every week.--User:jzimmerman016 (talk) 21:07, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Sakiv: What are you doing? Why are you undoing my revisions this time? I only unhid matches that have the official date and time that have been released by La Liga, like we agreed?!--User:jzimmerman016 (talk) 14:42, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
