Points?

So does this championship actually have a proper points system yet? My interpretation of the heat race "points" is that those are meant for the wacky qualifying system that they have right now and aren't actually championship points. If that's right, I don't think there's an actual championship going this year, rather just these two kinda exhibition-like races.
