Lead

[edit]
  • "11 to 17 November 2019 in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland." - at the Waterfront Hall,
  • "it was the sixth ranking event of the 2019–20 snooker season and the second event of the Home Nations Series." - repetition of "event"
  • "The event featured a prize fund of £405,000, with £70,000 being awarded to the winner. The event was broadcast on Eurosport and Quest domestically. The event was sponsored by betting company 19.com." - try not to have consecutive sentences start exactly the same
  • "compiling a maximum break in the first round match with Lu Ning, the sixth of his career." - in which frame did Bingham compile his maximum break?
  • "the sixth of his career." - needs to be mentioned in the prose at the correct place

Format

[edit]
  • "The Northern Ireland Open was first played in 2016 Northern Ireland Open," - avoid writing text like this
  • "The 2019 event was the second of four Home Nations Series events," - needs verifying with a reliable source
  • "The 2019 event was the second of four Home Nations Series events, and the sixth world ranking event of the 2019–20 snooker season." - too much repetition of "event"
  • "Chinese sports prediction website 19.com sponsored the event[9] which" - comma missing between the word "event" and the citation
  • You can add fuller details of who broadcast the tournament in other countries and terrorites

Tournament summary

[edit]
  • "Defending champion Trump defeated James Cahill in the opening round, then defeated three Chinese players Zhang Anda, Si Jiahui and Yan Bingtao, whilst unseeded player Anthony Hamilton defeated Tom Ford, Rod Lawler and eighth seed Kyren Wilson to reach the quarter-finals." - too many uses of the word "defeated"
  • "Fourteenth seed Joe Perry defeated Zhao Xintong, Ross Bulman, Graeme Dott and Robbie Williams to play Alexander Ursenbacher in the quarter-finals, who defeated Xiao Guodong and Martin O'Donnell in the opening two rounds" - same issue as above
  • "Fourteenth seed Joe Perry defeated Zhao Xintong, Ross Bulman, Graeme Dott and Robbie Williams to play Alexander Ursenbacher in the quarter-finals, who defeated Xiao Guodong and Martin O'Donnell in the opening two rounds." - needs verification by a reliable source
  • "In the third round, he met Stuart Bingham, who made the highest break of the event, a maximum break of 147 in his opening round win over Lu Ning." - in which frame did Bingham make his maximum break?
  • "Seventh seed Shaun Murphy defeated Fraser Patrick, Luo Honghao, Ricky Walden and Barry Hawkins to meet Ronnie O'Sullivan, who defeated" - repetition of "defeated"
  • "who defeated Oliver Lines, Lei Peifan, Stuart Carrington an Yuan Sijun.[14][8]" - refs in numerical order please and text in bold is a spelling error
  • "whilst Perry defeated Ursenbacher 5–3.[15][8]" - refs in numerical order please
  • "Selby, however, took over six minutes to take a single shot," - more than
  • "more time than the fastest ever maximum break." - clarify it was O'Sullivan who made that break in 1997
  • "O'Sullivan opened won all of the first five frames," - can be either expanded by adding some missing words or shortening it by deleting the word in bold
  • "and lead 3–1 after a break of 123" - led
  • "Making his second century break of the final," - how much was the century break?
  • "After the match, Trump commented: "To defend any title is always difficult but to do it against Ronnie [O'Sullivan] is extra special...You've got to play [your best] against Ronnie otherwise you lose."[19][21]" - the Eurosport citation (the second one) does not mention Trump's quotes so it can be removed
