Age, place of birth
[edit]This is pretty normal for leadership elections of this kind. Are there any objections? Onetwothreeip (talk) 23:14, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, the candidate's date (and place) of birth has nothing to do with the election, which is not based on ageism. Inclusion of DOB and POB is a breach of WP:INDISCRIMINATE. WWGB (talk) 00:18, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- WWGB Neither does the date they announced, or their current positions. This is very basic biographical information, so it's not indiscriminate. We should summarise as best as possible the key information of the candidates, like other such elections do. Onetwothreeip (talk) 22:56, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Deputy Subsection?
[edit]Thanks WWGB for putting this to light. At the moment there is no precedent to put a deputy leadership section on the page. I was just wondering what everyone's thought is on this? Similar infoboxes have been done for the June 2013 Australian Labor Party leadership spill and 2018 Liberal Party of Australia leadership spills. AlanPNguyen (talk) 06:20, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- It is my understanding that, unlike the leader's position, the position of deputy is determined by caucus and no prior nomination is required. While I have no objection to the infobox and information being added after the deputy is appointed, there is no need for such formaility at this time, especially as nominations have neither been called nor closed. WWGB (talk) 06:27, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
I agree with you WWGB. If there was a prior nomination process then I think an infobox would have been worth putting in. Thanks again for your perspective on this. AlanPNguyen (talk) 06:40, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
We should follow precedent and have an infobox for deputy leader if there is more than one candidate announced. Onetwothreeip (talk) 06:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
Does this article really need to exist?
[edit]There was one candidate. He won. Is this really worthy of a separate article?NobelSavage (talk) 16:04, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
