- "at the Alexandra Palace", most of the time we would say "at Alexandra Palace" without the "the".
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- You have "Dafabet Masters" as a WP:SEAOFBLUE atop the infobox.
- I thought I had already removed this. No worries. Removed. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Dafabet is not mentioned anywhere in the prose, should be there with reference.
- Added a note and cite. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "and the 43rd staging of the Masters. " I would say that first in that sentence.
- Makes sense Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "won the event in 2002" -> "won the event in 2001 and 2002"?
- I mean, technically it does make sense, but I have changed this Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- No need to link "London" or "England", both are major geographical locations well known throughout the English-speaking world.
- unlinked Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "15–22 January 2017.[1][2] The 2017 Masters" merge these to avoid the repeat of "2017 Masters" and make the repeat of the lead less obvious.
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- What does "revision 6" mean?
- The sixth revision of the world rankings. The rankings are now updated after every tournament, but they didn't use to be. There used to be specific ranking revision points. The sixth of these happened after the UK Championship, and was used as qualfication for this event. I don't suppose it's particularly important, so I could just remove. Snooker world rankings 2016/2017 is where the infomation is Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "Stephen Maguire did not qualify to play in the tournament, the first time since 2004 that Maguire did not play in the event." well presumably this was because of his ranking, so it'd be better to say something like "Ranked X, Stephen Maguire failed to secure entry to the tournament for the first time since 2004"?
- Done. He was ranked 21st, as an FYI. Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- No information here on the format of the tournament, i.e. frames per round etc?
- I've added something on frames per match. I'm not sure what else to put really. The dates are covered in prose Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "drew Liang Wenbo (12) " first time round, I would be more explicit: "drew Liang Wenbo (seeded 12) "
- Makes sense. I think I had this originally and purged the word "seed" from the article. Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "2012 Masters champion..." Insert "The" here to avoid false title and avoid starting a sentence with a numeric.
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "1991 World Champion" could link tournament.
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- No need to disambiguate John Higgins.
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "squandered " not really encyclopedic tone.
- removed Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Is there a cue gloss link for "respotted black"?
- There 100% should be. I'll add one later. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- " the title in 2011" -> "the 2011 title" (put "2011 title" as the pipe).
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- I see "thrashes" or "thrashed" but not "thrashing", keep it as a literal quote if you're putting it in quotes, or amend for sentence using square brackets if necessary.
- Reworded. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- " achieved a handful of times" not particularly encyclopedic.
- He would have been the fifth. Added Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "Quarter-finals ... The second round" be consistent with how you describe the rounds.
- Removed all "second rounds" Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- " reduce his deficit to one frame, at 3–4" once you start talking about a scoreline, don't suddenly switch it round depending on which player you're talking about, confusing. Check all article scorelines.
- Pretty sure I got the lot Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- "BBC sport" -> "BBC Sport".
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- " 2015 Players championship" why not call it by its proper name?
- The 2015 Players Championship Grand Final is probably the official name, as the name in the article barely ever gets used. I'll suggest a move of that page, and the corresponding pages. For now, I'll de-pipe, but it'll likely be changed. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- " a best of 19 frames match" ->" a best-of-19-frames match"
- Why is Prize fund towards the end of this and not up near the top, like the other snooker tournaments I've reviewed?
- Probably as I've been moving them all. I think it is better at the top. I don't think the MOS is particularly very specific about this, but I have moved this Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Neil Robertson doesn't need disambiguation.
- Removed Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Main draw key needs note about seedings.
- added a note Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:35, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- You italicise BBC Sport in the refs, but not in the prose, I usually use BBC Sport as a "publisher" for the purposes of refs (which would un-italicise it). Whichever you prefer, be consistent.
- On it. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

- On it. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- In fact, your usage within refs is inconsistent too, and sometimes linked, sometimes not, check 'em all.
- on it Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

- on it Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- You don't need "BBC Sport" in the titles of any of those refs which are published by BBC Sport, that doesn't appear in the titles (I think it's probably a throwback to an automated reference creation script...)
- Indeed. I use webref, which is great... But I should check it as it's completely automated. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:31, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

That's it from me on a run-through. I'll put the article on hold while we go over these. Cheers. The Rambling Man (REJOICE!) 09:53, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for your hard work The Rambling Man - I've covered all of the above. I remember losing all interest in this event when Marco Fu lost, but this GA has been fun to work on. If you have any further comments, let me know. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:37, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
Further comments
- Dafabet not mentioned in the prose, suggest you add something about them being the primary sponsors.
- Added a bit about this. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:29, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- I'm still not convinced that (revision 6) is useful or accessible to our readers.
- Yeah, I'll remove Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:29, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- Check the format of "World Snooker" or world snooker in the refs...
- I looked through them all, I think this is uniform now. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:29, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

- Alrighty then Lee, I removed a few of the "just"s which are better suited to tabloid, but otherwise, I'm satisfied, so promoting. Good work. Let's keep applying all these changes to the next ones I review, I think I got the 2019 Austria Open next... The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 16:53, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- No worries mate. I think I did quite a few fixes for that one, but going to go through it again one more time in a mo. Thanks for your time, and excellent reviewing once again. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 17:10, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
