Invitations
[edit]The first set includes the European Ryder Cup captain, plus all non-Americans in the top 90 of the June 27 OWGR, regardless of whether they'll qualify through the points list. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi 20:08, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
- This story implies that Jaco van Zyl was invited but will not play. He is not listed in the field despite his ranking. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi 22:15, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
Three players have been added to the field, non-Americans who have entered the top 90 of the OWGR in the last two weeks. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi 02:53, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
The final list of invitees includes all players not otherwise qualified in the top 120 of the OWGR except Jaco van Zyl and Shingo Katayama, plus the European Ryder Cup captain. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi 19:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Johan Kok
[edit]Phinumu, at the EuropeanTour.com website and the PGA.com website, they are listing Kok as being American. Only the PGATour.com website is listing him as being South African. Are the two websites wrong and the one is right? Or are the first two right and the PGA Tour website is wrong? Johnsmith2116 (talk) 03:36, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- The PGA website always lists all the PGA pros as American (see the PGA Professional National Championship leaderboard), regardless of where they're from. Note that the PGA Tour is the only one of those sources to give his birthplace (Nelspruit); other sources indicate Kok is from South Africa (e.g. this article from the Lousiville Courier-Journal); also, he evidently played on the Sunshine Tour for several years. pʰeːnuːmuː → pʰiːnyːmyː → ɸinimi → fiɲimi 04:07, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining. I wasn't aware of those things until now. Johnsmith2116 (talk) 04:10, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
