"The results of the round meant Nato's results in both races took the lead of the Drivers' Championship" Could use a rewrite
"to the top the standings" Missing an of. Also, specify who had held first?
"The 2016 Monaco GP2 Series round was the second of eleven scheduled events" Are they all -- or mostly all -- doubleheaders like this one?

Check your antecedent in " the latter due to him qualifying in 22nd and was unable to take his three-place grid penalty.[14]" -- the last name mentioned is not the 22nd qualifier.
"to out-braked him " something needs doing here.
"On lap six, the first mandatory pit stops to change tyres were made by Giovinazzi, Ghiotto, Pic and Kirchhöfer as Nato who were further down the field" Again, just needs a re-arrange.
"Meanwhile, a chain of VSCs was triggered on lap 18" Multiple VSC's on one lap?
"terminal damage for Eriksson" He didn't die, did he?
"Despite the VSC allowing to Markelov increase his advantage upfront" Missing a 'to'
