WikiProject British Museum banner

[edit]

@Ham II: Is adding the WikiProject British Museum banner a mistake? I fail to understand the association, as this article seems to be outside the scope of that WikiProject. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:19, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Cameron Dewe: The British Museum was one of the plot's intended targets, so I've assumed that the WikiProject covers anything connected to the museum even if it began life as a collaboration between the BM and Wikipedia with a more narrowly defined scope. The banner text simply says "This article is related to the British Museum". As the institutional collaboration seems to have come to an end, it would make sense for the project to be like other WikiProjects, covering anything connected to the topic. @Ham II: Sorry, with the collapsed banner in the shell, I missed that. Instead, I went to the WikiProject where I found the WikiProject seemed to be more concerned about the Wikipedia articles that dealt with objects within the museum's collections, as well as exhibitions and events happening within the museum itself, rather than external events that posed a risk to the museum and its staff. Personally, I think the relationship is rather tenuous because the plot was never executed. However, this is a grey area and the scope of the British Museum WikiProject seems large enough to drive a double-decker London bus through that it was unclear to me whether the article was in or out. Thanks for clarifying things for me. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:50, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
