Victims list

[edit]

Thanks for the cleanup notice Rahat. I've found a short compilation of 119 victims here as well as some statistics of what the victim's political occupations were, updated upto 23 February 2015:

Also I think it may be worth adding details about the rioters, of course. For one, I have second-hand knowledge that the assailants are not just hired goons, my teacher witnessed a "ভদ্রলোক " throw a petrol bomb into the back of a bus in Banani. I suppose I'll omit the names on the victims list and summarise the incidents because it's going to be even harder getting information on the current health of the victims. The account should've risen to more than 120 (according to the account in the link above) or 90 (by dhaka tribune's account). Thanks Rahat.

@Nahiyan8: the source you provided above is not an WP:RS. - Rahat (Message) 17:09, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Ctg4Rahat: I know but the table lists links to reliable sources, mostly The Daily Star, New Age (where he works) and Dhaka Tribune. Additionally the blogger is a journalist which definitely makes it next-to-reliable. – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 18:21, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Bashundhara group donated to some arson victims in late-January, although I'm not sure of their current news right now. If there are more examples of this, then we could possibly make an "Aid" section: http://www.thedhakapost.com/eng/report/details/317 – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 18:21, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Concert organised for DMCH burn victims, aid section definitely possible: http://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/2015/mar/10/concert-be-held-dmch-burn-patients – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 18:32, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Here is a list of references I've found relating to the crisis. I'm not sure on some of them but it should roughly stand to help write the article and stand as a rough guide on what happened so far. The list is in chronological order with the rough subject in front, either "Economical [effects and detriments]", "Attack[s on people and buildings, e.g. arson]", "Announcement [with the source uncredited]", "Interview [or talk by a political member]", "Opinion [article by a writer]", "Summary", and "Hartal [announcement]". The ones I think may be unrelated will be prepended with "Possible", and the ones relating to foreign response, opinions or so on will be marked with "Foreign".

For now most of the links are to the Prothom Alo because there are too many sources. If there's any new news later, I suppose news sources other than the Prothom Alo could be cited so that the article's sources are roughly evenly distributed. So far I've catalogued the links upto 5 January, but I'm working on the rest of them now. If there is anyone interested, please write the content according to the references above. – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 08:25, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have ceased working on a list. I hope people do try to complete the article. Thank you. – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 22:32, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
