Spain
[edit]Hi, Spain was qualify for de Hockey Boys' Tournament, please put it in the article (http://www.eurohockey.org/ehf/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3858:spain-crowned-eurohockey-under-18-champions&catid=292:top-stories&Itemid=456) --186.122.29.229 (talk) 00:43, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Individual Olympic Athletes
[edit]While there were reports of an athlete from South Sudan competing under the Olympic flag we still do not have any information about the name or event the athlete will compete in or a final confirmation on whether the athlete will compete in the first place. Any thoughts on what to do with the "Individual Olympic Athletes" name in the participating nations section. Should we remove it and add it after the athlete is named or should we wait a bit longer, say after the opening ceremony?JoshMartini007 (talk) 15:06, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
Discrimination Leading to withdrawal of Team Nigeria
[edit]I am going to create a controversy section that documents the discrimination by officials that eventually led to the withdrawal of Team Nigeria from the games. If any one has a sensible reason why this section should not be created, he better speak now or remain silent forever. I hate racism of any sort, and I am going to include it here. Despite all Nigerian athletes testing negative to Ebola, Team Nigeria was completely isolated from all other athlethes. The annoying thing is that Ebola is not even really in Nigeria. These are my many references 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanord (talk • contribs) 15:19, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Just be careful with bias when writing the section. Also mention Sierra Leone somewhere are they have also withdrawn. JoshMartini007 (talk) 15:45, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Update Liberia has withdrawn too while two athletes from Guinea have been barred from competing. Also there might be a chance Nigeria may still compete (minus their wrestler) 1 JoshMartini007 (talk) 22:10, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Why have Guinea been barred? Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:12, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Because their sports (judo and swimming) have increased risk to other athletes (just to be clear the athletes do not have Ebola).JoshMartini007 (talk) 12:42, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
It is not only the Chinese officials that banned the Nigerian team. According to http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/precautions-for-ebola-in-place-at-youth-olympics/2014/08/15/c28947a4-244f-11e4-8b10-7db129976abb_story.html, "The International Olympic Committee and Chinese organizers issued a joint statement saying they had worked out a safety policy in conjunction with the World Health Organization to prevent the possible spread of the virus that has killed more than 1,000 people in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria." So stop with this China bashing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.62.189.21 (talk) 00:47, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
Create a medal table.
[edit]Hi, everyone. I believe that since the games are underway, we should begin creating a medal table either in the Nanjing 2014 main article or as a new article. I'm not really an experienced Wikipedian, so I do not recommend myself to commission this project. I'm calling upon the Wikipedia community to start this project. I hope it goes well.
