Format of tables and article content and format
[edit]This discussion is for the format of the article as a whole.
There is currently under contention, the format of tables and the article as a whole.
There is currently some parts of the tables which are technical and very much of a technical r prior knowledge requirement and to the individuals who are not holding prior knowledge of the topic. This is for example "Home events" and "Away events" the purpose of this is not very well explained and is confusing to those without prior knowledge. In previous seasons the tables on other pages of scottish team season articles such as 2013–14 Rangers F.C. season#Competitions were collapsable and easier to understand and the format on this page is not explained and is more confusing and is potential information overload. For a simple quick view of the results a collapsable table is more accessible, the wanted information on yellow cards, goal scorers etc. can still be there in the expanded sections of the individual matches. having a collapsable table also makes the page smaller and easier to load. With regards to "friendly cups" such as the Renfrewshire Cup this can easily be a sub section of the friendlies section but really should be a separate subsection from other friendlies as the tournament matches are linked matches. There also appears to be information which is just information for informations sake such as "Ex-Morton captain Michael Tidser captained Rotherham" and "Ex-St. Mirren youth Jon Scullion scored as a trialist". These statements have not been given any explanation as to their relevance, significance, or importance. Information for the sake of it such as this and its inclusion is POV without explanation and the article needs to remain NPOV.
The above all needs explaining or the at least the rationale behind why the article is the way it is or the article will fall short of Wikipedia standards and any improvements which need making to bring it up to Wikipedia standards can be made. This is also in the best interests of consensus working on Wikipedia. Sport and politics (talk) 11:51, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
