Kimi Raikkonen, Accident or Collision damage

[edit]

From source: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2013/910/ FOM classified Kimi's retirement as accident, but unregistered members kept editing as "Collision Damage" without providing source or evidence.

So I would like to hear from others if the reason for Kimi's retirement be Accident or Collision Damage? StandNThrow (talk) 07:54, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As a general rule, we go with what formula1.com says, unless it's completely wrong (which it sometimes is). In this instance, FORIX says "Collision" and ChicaneF1 says "Collision with Giedo van der Garde", so I'd suggest going with "Collision" - to me "Accident" suggests no other cars were involved, which was not the case here. Records matched by Vettel

[edit]

The words 'in a season' are confusing in the mention of the records which Vettel matched (and suggest something which is actually false). Ascari only achieved 6 consecutive wins within one season - in 1952 - and then achieved a seventh, not within a single season, at the outset of the 1953 season. I would break this section up to reflect the fact that Vettel matched not only Schumacher's record of wins within a single season, but also Ascari's record of consecutive wins across seasons. The US GP article should probably mention that he therefore surpassed both of these at that race. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.62.203.37 (talk) 03:02, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
