Redistricting
[edit]It is highly inappropriate for this article to be presuming that the October 2011 draft map submitted by the AIRC is synonymous with "redistricting". The map as published on the AIRC site isn't even a "proposal", it is a draft map and is still subject to considerable change; as a precedent, note the significant changes between 2001's draft map [1] and the final approved map [2]. This year's map uncertainty is particularly exacerbated by the current political situation in Arizona, the governor and Senate having ousted the AIRC's chairperson [3].
I am hesitant about this article using the current draft maps at all, but at the very least the article should be rewritten to reflect the fact that the "proposed" new districts are, in fact, still in draft stages and by no means authoritative. Shereth 16:02, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
