Merge discussion
[edit]Proposing the merger of 2012 Sri Lanka Premier League Group Stage into this article on the following reasons:
- Article existence not supported by the guidelines of WP:SPLIT
- Merging only slightly increases the size of this article
- Convenience to readers by having all content on the same page

- I am also suggestiong that should further expansion to the Group Stage article be anticipated, that the article split be proposed after the expansion. SocietyBox (talk) 23:40, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Doesn't really make sense to keep a separate page for group league. Sayan rc (talk) 04:48, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose: The split is a spin off article which is done in Wikipedia in all developed sports articles. Although the size may not increase more than 40k, the length of the article will at least double, cluttering it with match after match of statistics and results. Having all the information all together on one page does not always work as sometimes it is too much, hence the spin off. The version as is gives a clean and straight to the point view of the tournament by presenting only the necessary information (such as who, where, who won, by how much etc.) at the same time placing the most importance on the most important matches, the Semi finals and Grand final.--Blackknight12 (talk) 11:15, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- There are many counter examples of cricket tournaments where there is no spinoff article. Guidelines do not state "double" to be a consideration. SocietyBox (talk) 11:56, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
