I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 14:17, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • In the lead, I think we need a little more background information -- readers unfamiliar with the topic won't know what CECAFA is, or what the Kagame Interclub cup is. Perhaps something like "... the 37th edition of the Kagame Interclub Cup, an invitational club competition for East African and Central African clubs. The competition is organized by Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA)."
  • The lead contains some information which isn't repeated in the body. I think you need a background section that includes much of what's currently in the lead. The lead is not only an introduction to the article, it's a summary of it, so everything in the lead should be in the body. Conversely, the most important information in the body should appear in the lead -- so more details such as the score would be good to add. Any other high profile information in the article should also be considered for the lead.
  • The "Participants" section is actually a mixture of participant information and prize money information. I'd at least split these into separate paragraphs, and make the section heading reflect the contents.
  • I think it would be better to list the prize money for the tournament without saying yet who won it, in order to keep a more chronological presentation.
  • There needs to be some information on eligibility -- how do teams qualify? Is it invitational only? What teams are eligible?
  • Please go through and check tenses -- I spotted some present and even future tense descriptions of events.
  • The external links tool finds a dead link and a link that redirects to the site home page.
  • The external links to the game reports should be removed per WP:EL, and made into citations that include the external links. There are several uncited paragraphs desribing the games, so using these citations to source those descriptions would solve two problems.
  • Are there any images that can be used? Of the teams, the games, or the stadiums?

-- That's everything I can see for now. I'll check for close paraphrasing after you've made some of the changes above. I'll place the nomination on hold. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 15:55, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Mike Christie: I've read through all the issues you've raised here, and I'll start working on the article as soon as I can (probably within the next couple of days; as you know I've been working on the 2013 CECAFA Cup article, in addition to my tight schedule outside Wikipedia). It's been six weeks now, so I'm going to go ahead and fail this -- if you do renominate it I'd be happy to look at it quickly rather than make you wait through the queue again. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 01:39, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
