[edit]The Galaxy are currently guaranteed qualification as either the Supporter's Shield winner or the Supporter's Shield runner-up, since the Sounders are the only team that can catch them and they're already qualified. How should that be noted? --24.18.232.224 (talk) 14:28, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Seattle Sounders
[edit]Today the Seattle Sounders won 2-0 to RSL however losing 3-2 on aggregate, eliminated them from the 2011 MLS postseason so I deleted the thing that said " Seattle can still qualify for the group stage depending on the 2011 MLS postseason". Is that right and okay. This is my first post in the talk section so I am asking.--Anojan12345 (talk) 05:53, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
It's wrong. Seattle can still clinch a Group Stage berth if Galaxy wins the league title. Then Seattle will get USA2, which goes to the Supporters Shield winner. Seattle are Supporters Shield runners-up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.73.133.192 (talk) 02:57, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
actually that's wrwong. Seattle is already qualified as USOC winners. the next available spot goes to Real Salt Lake as the next best regular season record not already qualified for a spot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.235.114.65 (talk) 15:32, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
Can we have a separate section or page detailing tiebreaking procedures in case of double-qualification?
[edit]Each country has a procedure in place in case of double-qualification. Double-qualification is when a team claims more than one CCL spot. I think we should show the reader just what the rules are concerning these situations.
Also, we should add seeding explanations as well. For example, it should be noted that half-season champions with highest regular season points get the higher seed among that country's CCL entrants. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.73.133.192 (talk) 00:42, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
