I changed the wording a bit at the end of the intro. Crosby and Ovechkin did NOT create a rivalry between these teams. It merely fueled one that already existed that really stems back to the 90s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.236.213.192 (talk) 06:46, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject?

[edit]

Why is the Montreal and Alberta wikiprojects listed on the discussion page? Thank you. Hholt01 (talk) 17:14, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Firsts?

[edit]

How is being the second game to be played at an NFL stadium a first?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.202.225.144 (talk) 08:16, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's referring to the fact that Heinz Field is also the home of the Pittsburgh Panthers. but as it stands the whole section needs to be removed or redone the references only back up the fact presented and not that it was a first for the WC, e.g. The 50 temp all the ref says it that temperatures hovered around 50 degrees, not that for the first time temps were at 50 degrees and there are no references to the other game temperatures. Since most of these are true (from what I know) I would think that there is a better reference to support these statements as first and not just happening.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 14:36, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think its very relevant to have this section, though I will try to find sources for the firsts, even though as you said it's common knowledge for those who watched it.Hholt01 (talk) 18:47, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removed TV ratings sentence

[edit]

I have removed the following sentence from the TV ratings section "The show finished third in its time slot behind the 2011 Fiesta Bowl on ESPN and 48 Hours Mystery and a rerun of CSI: Miami on CBS, finishing a presumptive second ahead of CBS in the 18-49 demographic."

  1. It seems to run contradictory to the prior sentence's reference which states that the WC was the top rated show for the demographic not second.
  2. the sentence says the WC was third in the time slot but then lists 3 other shows which make the WC sound fourth. 48 Hours Mystery and the rerun of CSI: Miami are both on CBS so we are talking about the entire broadcast of the game, I think it needs to be reworded to be clearer. Also wouldn't that make it multiple time slots?
  3. with no reference I can't confirm anything in this sentence

If the information is correct feel free to re-add it but pleas reference it. As it was originally written it does not make sense to me.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 15:17, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-emption in Ontario

[edit]

The final part of the game was shown in Ontario after the Ottawa-Toronto game. I watched the final two minutes or so, but I do not know what time of day or period time that coverage began. The sentence should be revised by someone who has the info. ʘ alaney2k ʘ (talk) 22:23, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info, any program guides or sources? I'll see if I can find some.Hholt01 (talk) 18:55, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
