Don't we need two separate articles?

[edit]

Don't we need two separate articles here? This one would deal with the regularly-scheduled Schumer seat election, while United States Senate special election in New York, 2010 or United States Senate election in New York, 2010 (special) would deal with the special election. Note that the Obama and Biden resignations don't bring about this two-elections-at-once problem, because Obama's seat was up in 2010 anyway and the other Delaware seat (Carper's) isn't up until 2012. But if done, its creation should wait until HRC actually resigns. Wasted Time R (talk) 02:22, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Too much going on with it to wait. I've created United States Senate special election in New York, 2010, which will exist alongside this one. This is how this situation has been handled in other articles, e.g. United States Senate election in California, 1992 and United States Senate special election in California, 1992.
