- ... that Millwall finally gained promotion through the play-offs on the sixth attempt after winning the 2010 Football League One play-off Final?

Lead
- Worth mentioning the semi-finals at all—at least who beat who?
- The second paragraph is a bit bulky. Particularly with the following sentences, I think you could cut the part about the blocked shot, and rework the remainder into a single sentence: "Steve Morison's shot was then blocked before Paul Robinson scored to make it 1–0 to Millwall: Scott Cuthbert's header from Danny Schofield's corner fell to Robinson who struck from close range."
- Might as well add what minute the goal was scored in.
Route to the final
- Why list the top six teams, instead of, say, top five or top ten? And why is Southampton in hidden text?
- Top two were promoted, next four took part in the play-offs. Southampton are hidden because I was undecided as to whether to include them relating to the point below. It doesn't affect the readers. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Southampton would have finished the season in fifth position in League One but they had been penalised with a ten-point deduction as a result of the club's parent company going into administration.
— What does "going into administration" mean? When was the penalty assessed—before the season? midseason? post-season? What place did they finish in?- We have Administration (British football) so I've linked it. I don't want too much detail in this article, it's not about Southampton, it's about the play-off final. What's there, i.e. that Southampton were denied the chance to take part in the play-offs because they were penalised, should be sufficient. If I ever went back to FAC (unlikely) this level of detail could be added, but even then it's better in the Southampton or league season articles, rather than this specific play-off final article. Swindon Town's opponents for their play-off semi-final were Charlton Athletic ... Millwall faced Huddersfield Town in their play-off semi-final
— Why? That is, how were the playoffs structured?- That level of detail can be found in the 2010 Football League play-offs article. This is about the final. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Same comment here as for 2006 Football League One play-off Final:
What about a concluding sentence to the first paragraph, along the lines of "The third through sixth teams thus matched off in a two-round tournament to determine the third team that would advance to the Football League Championship"?
--Usernameunique (talk) 08:28, 5 March 2021 (UTC)- It's not a tournament, it's just semi-finals and a final. The detail is in the linked play-off article. This article already says the final promotion place was determined through four teams playing in semi-finals, the winners of which play in the final. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Deon Burton then headed past David Lucas in the Swindon goal
— What minute?on 74 minutes
— Is this correct/accepted phrasing?
Background
- Can "relegated" be linked to anything?
- There's one article Promotion and relegation so we'll have duplicate links but I'm cool if you're cool. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- "I'm cool if you're cool" — Sure, let's tell ourselves that. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:28, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

- How did they make it back to the first division after the relegation?
- They got promoted. That info is in the 2006–07 season article linked. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
According to The Daily Telegraph, winning the match was worth £5 million.
— Worth it to whom?- The winner. Added. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Is Colin Webster worthy of a red link?
- No, in fact referees are undergoing a typical Wikipedia purge right now, so it'd either be created and deleted or red forever. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Better create some cricket stubs as diversion. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:28, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Jack Smith being replaced by Shaun Batt ... Kevin Amankwaah and Sheehan came in for Stephen Darby and Greer
— Positions?- I don't think that is really required for a GA to be honest, it would really bloat the text and then someone would ask for the positions to be linked and we'd have seas of blue. Also, the source only mentions one of the sets of positions so that would look even more anomalous. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Summary
His chip was pushed behind by Swindon goalkeeper Lucas
— "pushed behind" is a bit jargon-ey and imprecise.- Ok, added "the goal-line". The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Robinson scored to make it 1–0 to Millwall
— What minute?David Forde carried the ball out of the Millwall box
— Clarify that he's the goalie? Add something like "resulting in a hand ball"?Sheehan to the set piece
— Looks like we're missing a verb or something here.went close
— What does this mean?- It means they were close to scoring. I've rephrased it in simple English to "had shots which were close" which will turn off football readers but is hopefully clear to everyone else.
sent Austin clear
— What does this mean?- His pass allowed Austin to run clear of the defending side and pick up the ball (not literally). I've rephrased into simple English which makes it less readable to a football reader but will pass the "7-year-old American child" test. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- The location of the match isn't mentioned anywhere. How about the end of the first sentence in this section?
Post-match
Jackett, the winning manager
— His full name and a link should be used here, since he hasn't been introduced other than in the list in "Details"- Was he speaking? Post-match interview?
- Possibly. It's in the "post-match" section and what we know is that he made that quote after the game. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Same two points for Wilson
Wilson had resigned as manager in March 2011
— When is that in relation to the season? Midway through?- Season starts in August, typically ends in May. This article shouldn't need to cover typical football season calendars. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- File:Wembley2010PlayoffFinalWin.jpg looks like a decent photo that could go here (or another section)
- Added next to the stats section.

onhold
or I might be pre-empting you doing that. Either way, if there's anything else, just shout. Cheers again. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)- Hey The Rambling Man, my pleasure! I added a couple comments above (plus a one-comment review of the references), but nothing to get in the way of a pass for this fine article. (Well, per your comment on the 2006 article review, I guess I'll put it on hold for 20 minutes first, let the bot go through, and then pass it.) --Usernameunique (talk) 08:28, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Usernameunique cheers, as before I think the detail is enough and links to articles which describe in more detail what the structure was. Thanks again for the reviews. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:32, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
