about the oil spill fire
[edit]A couple of things...I changed this sentence: "Later that week 200 more charred corpses were added to Kenya's death toll when an oil spill caught fire in Molo." to this: "This is the first of two tragedies to happen in the week, the second had 200 more charred corpses added to Kenya's death toll when an oil spill caught fire in Molo." in an effort to make it clearer that they are two seperate incidents. The placement of the previous sentence in the article lends to a bit of confusion about them being linked.
The second comment/question is about the number of "charred corpses" in the sentence. It claims 200 but I thought it's been reported at 113 dead and 200 injured? I haven't changed this part (haven't had time to verify this so don't want to change it until verified) Any thoughts on this?69.55.17.80 (talk) 06:36, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Actually this reference link:[1] from the article itself says "The death toll from a fire after an oil spill in central Kenya has risen to 111" so I'm going to go ahead and change it to 111.69.55.17.80 (talk) 07:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
"First floor"
[edit]While I respect the different varieties of English we have on Wikipedia, this sentence: However the locking of the doors on the ground floor had no effect on the victims, as they were all found on the first floor. is genuinely confusing to (at least) a U.S. English speaker, to whom ground floor and first floor mean the same thing. Consequently, I've changed first floor to floor above in an attempt to be English-variety-neutral and yet clear. --Tkynerd (talk) 19:05, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
