Was there another terrorist attack in Khan el-Khalili ? Wouldn't it make more sense for the name of the article to be Explosion in Khan el-Khalili?--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 00:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, because our standard approach with the naming of incidents is to name them by year, then by location. Hence for instance 1993 Bishopsgate bombing, even though that was the first and only terrorist bombing on Bishopsgate. -- ChrisO (talk) 01:37, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This "Standard approach" is not policy. This year/place format began by mistake when there were multiple attacks in one place. It doesn't make sense and looks weird when applied to places with no prior attacks. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 02:16, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The most appropriate name is "Bombing at Khan el-Khalili" because this is not a random explosion, an accident (gas pipe explosion, etc). It was a terror attack in a unsafe country and this fact must be mentioned very clear.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.196.150.157 (talkcontribs)

Or just Khan el-Khalili bombing.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 21:05, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
