Someone's a fortune teller....

[edit]

I don't know about you, but this seems way too much like a WP:CRYSTAL violation to me. There has been no official word as to what new name, if any, and what new colors, if any, will grace the walls of the Trop next year. So, I'm going to move for deletion on this article, since nothing is going to be official about anything until Nov. 8. EaglesFanInTampa 14:54, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm going to slow down for just a minute. I see it was just created, so ignore my above deletion move; however, it's still, until at least a WP:CRYSTAL violation, and I'm going to correct those errors. Please feel free to comment on my changes accordingly. EaglesFanInTampa 15:48, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you were right the first time - it is a violation, and should be deleted until there is something verified and noteworthy enough to fill this page. --Chancemichaels 13:54, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Chancemichaels[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Draysunis.PNG

[edit]

Image:Draysunis.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Gomes, Cabrera, and Duncan suspensions

[edit]

I don't know so much about the appeals process in the MLB, but to my knowledge, all three players have appealed their suspensions, and will be active at the start of the regular season if the process is not finished by then, so I think something about that should be added, but I didn't want to do it unless I knew I was correct in assuming. April section

[edit]

I don't like that there's a section for April when (as of right now), we're only less than a week away from May. One of the problems I have with it is for some things, such as Troy Percival's "lack of saves and appearances" is already inaccurate now that he has a few more saves and appearances after the Disney series. Stats are going to change throughout the month, so using present tense is going to make the given fact inaccurate after the next game. I'm hoping on not seeing a May section until that month is completed. Things should only be added that cannot be changed, like Sonnanstine's complete game this month, for example. Who is responsible for the sentence "nor the Blue Jays, who were 10-17 at Tropicana Field over the previous three seasons — resisted the idea"?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.73.24 (talk) 01:16, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Game log

[edit]

Shouldn't this be substituted and editable on the page? I'm about 97.3836493% (??) sure people "agreed" to keep them editable on the page at WT:MLB, but I can't completely remember...   jj137 (talk) 17:13, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have been bold and substituted it.—Borgardetalk 02:19, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Performance vs. Attendance

[edit]

Should there be a section addressing the attention put towards the Rays' less-than-average fan turnout for being one of the top teams in the league this season, with the section including the Rays' record compared to announced attendance? I've been seeing discussions on ESPN/FOX about it that shows that the Rays (currently) are 17-1 at home in front of crowds 30,000+ with 17 consecutive wins. In my opinion, it's been talked about enough throughout the whole year (and still now) that it would be fit to be included in this article to show their performance compared to attendance. I just wouldn't know where to put such a section. Tampabay721 (talk) 18:22, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Postseason

[edit]

"Postseason" is one word, not two, in American sports (MLB, NFL, et al). It should be changed as such here and other MLB team articles. sixtynine • speak, I say • 04:25, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has it as a hyphenated word, i.e. "Post-season" Tampabay721 (talk) 04:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't necessarily mean it's set in stone, though. sixtynine • speak, I say • 01:22, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
