[edit]I read presidential and local elections may be held simultaneously ,mayebin October, but news are still flurred.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.9.146.173 (talk • contribs) 10:09, 31 August 2007
- That's because the election practically hasn't even been scheduled. And yeah, they first thought to hold them simultaneously - but they dropped it, and the local elections will be held afterwards. --PaxEquilibrium 12:00, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Tomislav Nikolic
[edit]It would be nice if we could find a picture of Toma to put it somewhere below Tadic to have a complete grasp for the article... --PaxEquilibrium 19:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
References
[edit]Nightstallion, could you please move all those links down to references, I haven't really handled that (yet)? --PaxEquilibrium 20:18, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Poll
[edit]Nightstallion, what do you think about the poll? I'm tempted to remove it, because it's actually a poll of most popular (active, doesn't count Vojislav Seselj or Bogoljub Karic) politicians and the Prime Minister is undoubtedly not gonna run for President. --PaxEquilibrium 21:24, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, likely better not to include it. —Nightstallion 16:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- But I just think that people should realize the it's not doubtable that Boris Tadic will get (individually) the largest number of votes. I.e. more than Tomislav Nikolic. Help me out over here... --PaxEquilibrium 17:48, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- I would, but I haven't seen any source we could use... —Nightstallion 09:43, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Bad writing
[edit]Woah there. I'm noticing some ugly inconsistencies (like repetitions) in the article, mostly under the DSS-NS section. I'd like to repair it but have no idea...'cause if we continue pouring information it's gonna get messy beyond repair and end up like the parliamentary election article. --PaxEquilibrium 18:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm referring mostly to the twice Velja Ilic, at the beginning and the end of the section. --PaxEquilibrium 10:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I see what you mean... —Nightstallion 10:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was kind-of hoping you'd rewrite it slightly...I'm exhausted. --PaxEquilibrium 16:25, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- ...and now I've done the same thing with the "Others" section...--PaxEquilibrium 19:38, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well done on both points; sorry I couldn't help, I was abroad. —Nightstallion 14:17, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's actually not a well-done job, if you're not referring to the images. :( --PaxEquilibrium 12:35, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well done on both points; sorry I couldn't help, I was abroad. —Nightstallion 14:17, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

The image are a little nuisance - any idea Nightstallion? --PaxEquilibrium 11:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Local elections?
[edit]Nightstallion, this article is about the presidential election - we should keep the topic separate from the local ones. --PaxEquilibrium 11:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Could you create that article then? I quickly needed to dump the info somewhere and hadn't got the time to create the local elections article. —Nightstallion 20:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! I've moved the info. —Nightstallion 15:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Don't mention it. --PaxEquilibrium 19:21, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! I've moved the info. —Nightstallion 15:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Election Date
[edit]The date has been set at January 20th for the first round according to International Herald Tribune.[1] So should the section on the date just be removed?--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 23:19, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, but cleaned up. It should contain some concise reference to the problem. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 23:21, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Could be used
[edit]This would be nice to use at the article. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:10, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Ištvan Pastor
[edit]...Is not yet a candidate. --Pockey (talk) 22:39, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Needless paragraph
[edit]The 4th paragraph is unnecessary. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 16:26, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Refused candidates
[edit]http://mtsmondo.com/news/vesti/text.php?vest=81793
Should be added, Hadzi Andrej Milic of Emperor Lazar has been refused as well. ;) --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 00:11, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Nikolic, vice-president confused other wikipedias
[edit]Stop adding information about Tomislav Nikolic as it is confusing to other wikipedias. I just had to remove the text on Norwegian wikipedia where it was translated that Nikolic is the current vice president of Serbia (non existent position). --Avala (talk) 22:18, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Proposals for Avala
[edit]1. Why not include the rejected candidates?
2. Why not include that SPO President Vuk Draskovic will not run, nor support anyone?
3. Why not include Cyrillic original scripts? The fact that it's not used elsewhere is no reason to simply discard it. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 23:02, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
1. Well there were two of them, one supplied 9 signatures and one supplied none so that brings me to conclusion they are not worth of any mention.
2. That should be added to Vuk Draskovic article not this one as he is not an important political figure anymore.
3. I will add it to the table but it's not part of the norm to add local languages into result templates.
--Avala (talk) 23:31, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- 1. Still, that's info that doesn't hurt to be here - and I see that other articles use it as well. ;)
- 2. All the media reported it, so it's pretty important enough.
- 3. Well let's be the first and others will follow. ;) --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 12:57, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree on 1. and 2. with Pax, and don't care too much about 3. —Nightstallion 12:59, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Roms for Nikolic
[edit]Some Romany representatives have declared for Nikolic.
http://www.b92.net/info/vesti/index.php?yyyy=2008&mm=01&dd=10&nav_id=279889 --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:43, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Supported by
[edit]Please add only valid political parties and don't add organizations, singers, and individual politicians. Tadic is supported by Milorad Dodik, Pastor is supported by Montenegrins, Nikolic by some Roma politicians but none of them are valid to be added in the table but rather their respective articles. Avala (talk) 15:38, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Order
[edit]The candidates should be presented in alphabetical order. GregorB (talk) 23:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Endorsements
[edit]For the second round -- are there any up to now? —Nightstallion 17:21, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just Pastor. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 18:54, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Rounds
[edit]I would like us to make a division of the article into the first and second round. The candidates have different political posters and are under different numbers. Also, between we could insert data between the two circles, regarding endorsements. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:23, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Aye, I agree. —Nightstallion 02:16, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you are going to make two sections then OK return the old poster for the first round table and upload a new one for the second round table. --Avala (talk) 16:37, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Nah, I don't have any more time at all... --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 16:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you are going to make two sections then OK return the old poster for the first round table and upload a new one for the second round table. --Avala (talk) 16:37, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
The political forces that supported after the 1st round should be in the 2nd round section. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 23:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Vlach (or Romanian?) groups mentioned
[edit]The Radical Party candidate is said to be "Supported by: Vlach Party, Vlachs of Democratic Serbia and Democratic Community of Serbian Vlachs". None of these have any links, internal or external; none are mentioned in the List_of_political_parties_in_Serbia, unless one is the Democratic_Movement_of_Serbian_Romanians under another name. They are not referred to in the article Vlachs_of_Serbia. Googling their names is fruitless. Can their existence be verified? If not the statement quoted should be excised. ariwara (talk) 21:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, yes; they are minor parties that are only present in the local self-government parliament (actually, just two of them). --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:54, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I tried to put the Template:fact on but someone kept removing it without supplying any source. --Avala (talk) 23:28, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Template added. Can any reliable source be shown which confirms that these three groups all actually exist (i.e. not just as two-men-and-a-dog parties) and further that they support the Radical Party? Are their names accurately translated into English, in which there is an unclear distinction in usage between 'Vlach' and 'Romanian'? ariwara (talk) 09:49, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I introduced the source numerous times, I don't know why everyone missed it.
- The Vlach Party is registered in the Ministry for State Management and Local Self-management. The Vlachs of Democratic Serbia supported the Roma Union of Serbia back at the 2007 parliamentary election. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 10:33, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and all major Serbian TV stations aired their leaders. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 10:34, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Problem is that other candidates have received similar support from minor parties but it's not mentioned (Pastor from Montenegrins for an example, Tadic received support from numerous minority parties and there was a press conference about it etc.)--Avala (talk) 11:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- If I recall, I added it all into the article - including the Crusader Montenegrin society. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 16:20, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Problem is that other candidates have received similar support from minor parties but it's not mentioned (Pastor from Montenegrins for an example, Tadic received support from numerous minority parties and there was a press conference about it etc.)--Avala (talk) 11:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Map
[edit]Nice map in the background section. Could the code for the grey, white, and red municipalities be added please? I note this is an official map; if the official results are available, preferably in English, or at least latin alphabet, could they be linked to? Thanks! ariwara (talk) 23:46, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well yeah, the official results are in the article. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 11:42, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Issues of international importance
[edit]In this article, I cannot find information on the issues that drove international attention to the election: (1) the possibility of Kosovo independence and (2) the choice between the EU and Russia. So could a Serb, or foreigner with more knowledge than me, write a few sentences on the issues in the election and clarify the sensitivities of the electorate? --Cryout (talk) 03:22, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- What precisely are you referring to? --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:00, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Position of the map
[edit]It's messy down there. Why shouldn't it be in the beginning? --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:01, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- It repositions the text if it's placed on the left and if you put it on the right it moves the politics template. Neither solution is perfect but this way at least we have a clear intro section. --Avala (talk) 21:33, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Second round figures
[edit]The figures given for the second round don't add up. The totals given for the two candidates add up to 4,501,622, not the figure of 4,463,548 given. And the valid and invalid vote totals given add up to 4,541,425, not the 4,544,304 give. Furthermore 50.31 and 47.97 do not up to 100, which in a two-candidate race I think they ought to. Finally these figures are not sourced, which they should be. Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 16:04, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Done. The problem was that only the two candidates' were the final results, the rest of the data was from the preliminary. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 18:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- There are again some different numbers in differnet parts of artcle, and numbers dont add up for second round. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.189.204.147 (talk) 19:12, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
