No elections
[edit]As far as I can see there were no separate elections in mayotte. This article can be deleted. Electionworld Talk? 18:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- The CIA world factbook states that legislative elections for the island's parliament are due in 2007. The French wikipedia has an article on a 2007 legislative election in Mayotte, but it is not clear (to me anyway) if this refers to electing a representative for the French Parliament or for the island's parliament. - The French article is on the legislative election for the French National Assembly seat. —Nightstallion 20:45, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- So, what do we do now? —Nightstallion 14:49, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wait and hope someone who actually knows comes along, or petition the Mahoran government to get a website! :) Number 57 22:29, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Seriously, though: It has to be held this year, right? —Nightstallion 09:04, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- If the information about it being every three years, then yes. Does the island have a newspaper online? Perhaps that could be a source. Number 57 18:21, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- I found this one but it seems the 10 June elections were the ones for the Mahoran representative in the French Parliament. Perhaps it is later this year. Number 57 18:29, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Possibly, yes... Mh. Until then, what do we say in the article? —Nightstallion 18:58, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- I guess just go back to "Legislative elections are due to be held in Mayotte in 2007" using the CIA World factbook as a source. Number 57 19:16, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Likely the best idea, yeah. —Nightstallion 08:16, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

The French wiki states in fr:Mayotte:
The bold part roughly means "Furthermore, the General Council of Mayotte will -- after its renewal in 2008 -- be able to adopt a resolution inviting the government to transform the collectivity into a DOM." Therefore, I think this election is actually in 2008... —Nightstallion 20:24, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
