I've closed this discussion as this article is a duplicate of an already existing one at Next Israeli legislative election. This is the standard title for future elections with an uncertain date - see Next Irish general election, Next Japanese general election, Next United Kingdom general election etc. When the date has been set, the article will be renamed Israeli legislative election 20XX. пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:18, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
2008 Israeli early elections → Israeli legislative election, 2008 — Make it standard with Israel election articles (fixing request by anon) — Pwnage8 (talk) 01:24, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
Surely the correct title should be Israeli legislative election, 2009. The elections are not going to be in 2008.12.145.160.100 (talk) 02:28, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Strongest [possible] support: And furthermore, what does "Next Israeli legislative election" mean? What happens in 2011, will next still be the 2009 elections? Not only should the two articles be merged, but the name should be changed from "early elections" too, not just the 2008 reference. Lihaas (talk) 03:34, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Merge, then rename to 18th Israeli legislative election, and rename again upon dissolution of Knesset. Date of election is speculative: there's still time for a government to form, plus Peres has the option to ask someone else to form a ministry instead of dissolving the Knesset. I can understand the use of "next" for a place like the UK, but given a clear and complete history of general elections in Israel, numbering them would be much clearer. Plus even after the date is known, the term "18th Israeli legislative election" is a reasonable name for the election, so the redirect wouldn't be pointless.
