LSU vs. Louisiana State

[edit]

This has been discussed before and the consensus was that since Louisiana is the only state in the union that starts with an "L" and since the university officially brands itself as simply "LSU" that Wikipedia will use "LSU" as well. Hope this helps. Seancp (talk) 03:17, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, that makes sense. I call it "LSU" myself not Louisiana State. Since the other articles had it, that's why I thought it should be on here as well. Using "LSU" is fine, but I just wanted to be sure a consensus had been made and that was the case. UWAFanatic05 03:22, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A user named Topgun530 keeps removing the relevant "see also" link for the 2008 LSU Tigers baseball team. He is also doing it on the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament article. These links should be there for any team that is in the tournament that has a season page, for example, the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament has links to the 2008 Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team, 2008 LSU Tigers baseball team, and 2008 Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team article. It does not link to the 2008 Clemson Tigers baseball team or the 2008 Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team articles because those teams weren't in the tournament. And since LSU is the only team in the CWS with a 2008 team article, then they are the only team linked to in the 2008 College World Series article. The links are relevant. I ask you, Topgun530, to please stop removing them. Seancp (talk) 15:10, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. That link is not relevant. You are attempting to put an article to your favorite team where it really does not need to be and does not fit in the context of the See Also section.
