*It seems to be a fairly decent article, but there are a lot of lists. Maybe they can be converted into prose. Also, refs are a must and there are basically none, or at least none using the <ref> tags. └Jared┘┌talk┐ 14:22, 25 March 2007 (UTC) |

Sortable (truncated) medal table
I suspect this isn't something anyone (including me) will want to (or be able to) change, but...
It is a bit odd to have a sortable truncated table. For example, I believe Norway had the sixth highest medal total in 2006 (19), but had only 2 gold. As a result, the table sorted by total medals is erroneous (as is the table sorted by silver or bronze, of which Norway had 8 and 9, placing 4th and 1st respectively). My guess is that once this is set up as a table, it is automagically sortable. Is a note to the effect that the entire table shows different results beyond gold appropriate? I know there is already a link to the entire table, so perhaps that is enough... LUxlii (talk) 23:53, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
number of sports
In infobox are 7 but in section sports are 15, why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.81.55.31 (talk) 12:39, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- I assume this has already been fixed. The numbers match now. LUxlii (talk) 23:59, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Medal Table Oversight
What is the source for the list ranking? The Olympics themselves ranks countries by medal count. This doesn't do that, which seems to then introduce a different point of view then the Olympics as to how countries should be ranked. Shouldn't the ranking by the ranking used by the Olympics, which is medal count? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.206.233 (talk) 02:45, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
If countries are listed by Gold-Silver-Bronze sort, it doesn't make sense to include a "Total Medals" sort that doesn't include all countries.
For instance, Norway only won 2 golds and isn't in the table. They did win the 6th-most total medals (19 medals) but they still do not appear in a "Total Medals" sort.
- Added another section, but should have responded to this. I think it may be an automatic feature of tables that they are sortable. If not, sorting should probably be eliminated for this table, since at the very least Norway should appear in any other sort of the medals. LUxlii (talk) 00:01, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Controversies
The Turin Metro System was not projected as part of the Olympic plan. Its project started before the Games assignation (1995 vs 1997 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turin_Metro). That's why it did not serve any Olympic venue! The public transport system (apart from Metro) connecting all the Olympic venues with several parts of the City worked 24 hours a day during the Games, so I think that saying that spectators had problems in leaving venues after 6 pm because Metro closed by that time it's a bit unfair! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.215.169.20 (talk) 10:23, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Medal count chart
Gold medals alone should not be the criteria for inclusion on the chart of "top N" countries unless it is *only* for gold medals. Norway, for example, is excluded from the current chart as they only won 2 gold medals, but have 19 overall, placing them in the middle of a chart of overall medal winners.
Total medals would be a better measure for a chart that only lists a few countries. 129.137.96.3 (talk) 17:37, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
