Records achieved sections
[edit]I added a section for new world and meet records achieved. I think it's helpful to have, especially since some records aren't broken in the championship finals of the event.
Since I'm not really a table-wizard, it would be appreciated if someone could mess around with the ones I made to make them look better. I basically just lifted the tables and color scheme from the individual events in the article.
Originally I was going to indicate how much the record was broken by, but it became apparent to me during the meet records that was harder to compute than I thought. There were a few situations where the meet records were broken in preliminaries and then broken again in finals, so it was hard to tell which record to take the difference from (since the record in preliminaries happened first, it was a meet record for several hours). In one case, Natalie Coughlin broke the Women's 100m Freestyle record in preliminaries, missed it in finals, and then Amanda Weir broke the record on the lead-off leg of the 4x100m Freestyle Relay (notice the CR next to her split time in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay results).
In general, if multiple people broke the record in the same heat, only the actual record is noted as the record was already broken when the second swimmer finished. When the same record is broken in different heats, a swimmer breaking it in the earlier heat is noted in a footnote, but only the fastest record is listed.
Hopefully this isn't too convoluted to implement! –Pakman044 06:41, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Korea?
[edit]Based on the results coming out on the results sheets (and the Pan-Pacs website), KOR stands not for South Korea as had been assumed, but both Koreas combined. So which flag gets used (or both)? –Pakman044 03:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
