Schedule links
[edit]Under the "Schedule" section, wouldn't it be better to link to a page like Miami Hurricanes football instead of specifically to their '06 team page? Seems like in the long run it would make a lot more sense. AriGold 17:41, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- The format we've been using is to link to the '06 team page, if there is one, since that is the specific team that will be/is being played and will contain the information relevant to the game in question. It's preferable because there a user can see the "other" team's record, ranking, roster, results, etc. The main program article is irrelevant in this instance since its orientation is more historical. However, if there is no '06 article, than the appropriate convention is to link to the football program page. If there's no football program page, the link should be to the athletics page. And if there's no seperate athletics page, the link should be to the university page.-PassionoftheDamon 19:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good. AriGold 13:01, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Offensive Scheme
[edit]The "vertical pass" offensive scheme does indeed exist [1] and is the offense that Florida State has employed since Jeff Bowden has been offensive coordinator. Mark Richt employed a more traditional pro style offense. -PassionoftheDamon 19:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- All major college football news outlets, including College Football News, Lindy's, Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Phil Steele, etc. Even FSU's official website and media guide [2] say that FSU runs a "pro set" offense.AriGold
- Now you're just getting on my nerves with your intransigence. For the last time, a pro set is a formation, not an offensive scheme. It makes you sound like a football ignoramus when you keep using the terminology incorrectly-PassionoftheDamon 06:12, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- So, your contention is that College Football News, Lindy's, Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Phil Steele, MSNBC, Scout.com. Rivals, com and the FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT all are incorrect when they list our offenive scheme as "pro set"? I've taken this to mods. AriGold 12:43, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'll keep my sources coming . . . [3], [4], [5], [6], [7].
- So will I: Pro Set, [8], [9]. And in case you didn't notice, your citation to the Pensacola News Journal actually references the "pro set" as FSU's base FORMATION, not its SCHEME, proving the point you're arguing against. But if you want to look like an ignormaus in insisting on calling an offensive system by a formation name, that's fine by me. I have neither the time nor the inclination to engage in an edit war with you.-PassionoftheDamon 03:37, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
