POV
[edit]The article starts with the riot, only mentioning the cause later, then quotes some "islamofascism" blog? This isn't even close to NPOV. - TheMightyQuill 22:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I dont think point of view is the problem here. The article may be sloppy, but it is not particularly biased. The 'Islamofascist' blog TheMightyQuill refers to is not particularly biased. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.167.130.24 (talk) 23:55, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Please watch your language in here (re: your last sentence, offensive, which i have removed). This may be a discussion page and not the article itself, but putting forth your opinion on Islam is not appropriate. In here we discuss the quality of the article, no more. And, thanks to your comment, i guess i'll pbbly go check out that blog which you think unbiased. --Jerome Potts (talk) 19:59, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Other problems
[edit]There's a lot more wrong with this article than neutrality - it's sloppy, disorganized, and not very well sourced. I know nothing about these events, but it needs cleanup from someone who does. Oh, and hey: can you spot the problem in this quote? "Between 1 and 4 am, ten cars were set on fire, several car and shop windows were smashed, and one shop and five cars were set alight." - Ennuified talk 11:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Is Free Republic a reliable source?
[edit]I rewrote this article slightly to put the events in chronological order, and make it slightly more neutral - e.g., I don't think it's relevant that the riots occurred during the month of Ramadan, so until we have a reliable source saying that there's some connection there, it should be removed. However, I'm still concerned by the use of Free Republic as a source for much of this article - I don't think they generally meet the requirements of a reliable source, as they're essentially a blog/forum with a strong partisan bias and no commitment to neutrality. What does everyone else here think? Terraxos (talk) 20:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
