Untitled

[edit]

I am very interested in following this election. Unfortunately, very little information is available yet on who the finalists may be and their backgrounds.

Contributors?

This looks like a potentially hot race.

Maybe in August, when the above comment was written, the race could have been called "potentially hot". It quickly became apparent that Campbell is the "anointed one". --Asbl 20:13, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nomenclature

[edit]

I checked the Secretary of State web site (which has jurisdiction above the county registrar of voters), and they use the following nomenclatures

  • Special Primary Election
  • Special General Election

Check out the calendar PDF files in the Secretary of State web site for the special elections called to replace Campbell in the State Senate http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections_sd35.htm (look at what election day is called).

One vs. two tables

[edit]

Although combining the two elections into one table may seem like a good idea as it is more compact, the results of the elections do not allow this compact form, as James Gilchrist received more votes than Steve Young in the first election, but received less votes than Young in the second election. This leads to the dilema of how to sort the table; hence, it's better to have two tables. --Asbl 16:40, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
