Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.
Immediate Failures

-It contains copyright infringements
-It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}).
-It is not stable due to edit warring on the page.

[edit]- Not going to lie, when I picked this up, I thought it was a motorsport event. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:01, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Is it worth mentioning who Ken beat the prior year? Or at least mentioning what the event was? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:01, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- The event having a round-robin element is worth mentioning in lede. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:01, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
General
[edit]- Snooker Promotions (Malta) - was this the name of the company, should be italics? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- No that's correct MWright96 (talk) 14:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Malta seems large enough not to link. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- The 2001 tournament was the fourth of the five World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association invitational events in the 2000–01 snooker season,[3] the seventh Malta Grand Prix,[1] and was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, between 21 and 25 February 2001. It preceded the 2001 Masters. - masssive sentence followed by a tiny one. Probably could split/merge Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- No defined prize fund? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- The field was composed of Alex Borg, Ken Doherty, Tony Drago, Joe Grech, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, Paul Hunter, Stephen Lee, Fergal O'Brien, Matthew Stevens, Joe Swail and Mark Williams - probably worth splitting into those from Malta and those not. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Could we have group stages and knockout rounds as subsection of "Tournament summary"? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Done this differently MWright96 (talk) 14:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- The 12 best-of-9 frame group stage, due to how this is written, I prefer "the twelve best-of-nine frame..." Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- O'Brien in the quarter-finals of the Masters - worth saying this was the 2000 Masters, as we've spoken mostly about the 2001 event. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- During the eighth frame, the electrical cables attached to the television lighting rig some 50 ft (15 m) above the players snapped and swung across the table, causing Stevens, who was about to strike the pink ball, to seek cover - some prime WP:DYK stuff right there. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- That was at DYK last month :) MWright96 (talk) 14:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Williams changed his playing style midway through the match because he was unsteady - can we expand on that? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- from a possible 90 qualified finals - we've already mentioned this. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- We got a referee for the final? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:09, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- That information is unavailable MWright96 (talk) 14:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
