IUPAC Name

[edit]

Since the IUPAC name of tetrahydrofuran is oxolane, should this be renamed 2,2,5,5-tetramethyloxolane? --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 03:12, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CHEMMOS, Wikipedia articles about chemicals should be titled by their commonly used names, not by IUPAC names. In this case, I don't think it should be retitled. -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:45, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
