Dates and values are suspect
[edit]There are two sources for this article - one is an article written in 1988, which can only provide background material on the issue. The other is a German webpage, which I cannot read. However, if one consults the Canadian Encyclopedia on the subject (see http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/nunavut/ ) we see that some of the details aren't quite right. The date of the referendum is not November but in October. The number of Yes votes is also different - 84.7% as opposed to 69% as claimed in the current version of the article. I am flagging this in the hope that someone with a better knowledge of the actual events can correct the article. Observer31 (talk) 16:50, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Observer31: According to Direct Democracy in Canada: The History and Future of Referendums, this plebiscite took place on 3–5 November and confirms the 69% in favour result (as does the Encyclopedia of American Indian History), so it would appear that the Canadian Encyclopedia could be wrong.
