- ... that both of Scunthorpe United's substitutes failed to score their penalties in the shootout which saw them lose the 1992 Football League Fourth Division play-off Final?
5x expanded by The Rambling Man (talk). Self-nominated at 13:18, 9 April 2021 (UTC).
- Hi The Rambling Man, another excellent article in your play-off series that I enjoyed reading (and found educational: I didn't realise that two subs was the limit as late as this). Article more than 5x expanded between 6 and 7 April; article exceeds minimum length and is well written; I didn't spot any issues with overly close paraphrasing from the sources; hook fact is interesting enough, mentioned in the article and checks out to the sources cited; a QPQ has been carried out. Looks fine to me - Dumelow (talk) 06:20, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

Lead
[edit]- "The top three teams of the 1991–92 Football League Fourth Division, Burnley, Rotherham United and Mansfield Town, gained automatic promotion, while the teams placed from fourth to seventh place took part in play-offs." - repetition of "team(s)"
- What about linking the term "pass" to Passing (association football)?
- Spot kick would be better off wikilinked to the relevant article
- "Scunthorpe ended their following season in thirteenth position in the newly renamed Third Division (still the fourth tier of English football)." - how about which remained the fourth tier of English football. so that it's not worded almost exactly the same as in the first sentence of the paragraph this sentence is in?
Route to the final
[edit]- "Blackpool finished the regular 1991–92 season in fourth place in the Football League Fourth Division, the fourth tier of the English football league system, one place and four points ahead of Scunthorpe United." - repetition of "place"
- "Blackpool faced Barnet in the other semi-final and the first match was played on 10 May 1992 at Underhill in London." - requires verification since Underhill is not mentioned in the source attached to this text
- Wikilink the term crosses to the appropriate article
Summary
[edit]- "Tony Rodwell made an opportunity for Bamber but he missed." - what opportunity?
- How about wikilinking the term "pass" to Passing (association football) only on the first mention?
- Penalty shootout will need to be wikilinked for non-Football readers
Details
[edit]- No references to verify the match details?
Post-match
[edit]- "Scunthorpe ended their following season in thirteenth position in the newly renamed Third Division (still the fourth tier of English football)." - same query as the fourth one in the lead section
