Previous election
[edit]So in theory there are three options for the 'previous' election:
- The 1938 Riigikogu election
- The Congress of Estonia election of February 1990
- The Supreme Soviet election of March 1990
In terms of which one(s) to link, I think it is best to stick to only linking the third; the Supreme Soviet elected in 1990 was the de facto parliament of Estonia until the 1992 elections and was the body that made the Estonian Restoration of Independence proclamation.
I think linking the 1938 election as the previous de jure election is problematic, as the Supreme Soviet election was arguably also de jure as it was in accordance with Soviet law. And it is complicated by the Congress of Estonia, which claimed to be a continuation of pre-1940 Estonian politics.
On a related note, I also removed the link to Members of the 6th Riigikogu as the "outgoing members", as I think this is definitely misleading. Cheers, Number 57 01:55, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
